Assalamu'alaikum....
At work again, though today is a pretty slow day for me, maybe because I came an hour late to work, not on purpose (kinda) but because I got held up at the Secretary of State office doing my permit. Thank goodness I told Merry I was gonna go get my permit, so at least she wasn't wondering where I was. Did i get my permit? Amidst my sleepiness (couldn't fall asleep until about 3.30 am for some unknown warped reason) and jumpiness (no coffee and no breakfast because no money), I managed to pass the damn test, even though I thought I failed it and was gonna have to take it again.
Freaky thing happened at the counter when I went to submit my test result. Apparently this Japanese couple (at least according to their passports) were talking while taking their tests, so the lady who was handling my paperwork bellowed a loud "Excuse me, can both of you come up here?" and promptly took their tests away. Both of them were given a stern "You can't compare your answers, let me get you your IDs" and "You can come back next week and take the test again". And there I was, standing in front of the counter thinking "I had to get her counter...". I think the whole SoS office heard her take away their tests, and while I don't think the couple should have cheated (common sense to not talk during a test), I do feel bad for them for being embarrassed in front of everyone like that.
Special thanks to Hakam for willing to give up his sleeping hours to send me to the ofice, and for willing to double back to get my passport, my bad.
Things are pretty quiet now in my life, aside from work, sleep, chores and worrying about money, I really have nothing going on. I made my SFO payments just now, planned a budget for upcoming charges (and hopefully a trip to Chicago) and decided that I'm in pretty good shape. As my days seem to be calming down (I finished my officfe paperwork for the next edition of Arcana and had just submitted it, so I'm pretty much waiting for my next project to arrive) and I've settled most of my account stuff (feel bad for adding paperwork for someone else now that I know how much work paperwork really is), I can concentrate studying for my GRE and finish reading that book I've been hankering on for the past three weeks.
Sometimes I miss having someone around to just talk with. Arwah Teh and I used to talk a lot during the evenings when we got back from classes or after she got back from work. It was nice because I can just knock on her door and pop in to say hello, and we would just vent out whatever stress that we had to each other. To the rest of the world she was this quiet, serious looking girl but to me she was this funny person who listened to what I had to say and never failed to put a funny spin on things so that in the end, all of the complicated things in my life that was bringing me down, didn't seem so complicated anymore.
A friend once told me "Just because they're not there doesn't mean you'll ever forget ". And I haven't, not for a single day. Arwah teh and arwah Nanim were my comfort zone, people who I know I can tell anything and it won't up being blabbed to everyone, and in return I offered my friendship and whatever comfort and help I can give whenever I can. I guess in a way I hid behind them, took comfort in needing and being needed. Now that the screen is gone, what is left is me, and to learn how to function and operate in this new environment I was thrust in is just a concept that is too hard for me to comprehend right now, or maybe ever.
Almost 8 months had passed and I still haven't really found anyone like them here, and most likely never will. In a way I'm being forced to be with me, to look at me and to come to terms with who I am and what defines me. I keep myself busy with work and acquiring new material things and sometimes studying :) , but while that would fill my days, when I lay on my bed at night, I'm still left with tonnes of memories and a huge gap in my heart.
Maybe I'm feeling extra melancholic because arwah Nanim and I used to plan to take our driving license together. Sometimes it just didn't seem fair that I'm still here and they're not, though I try to push those kind of thoughts away since I know what was decreed by Him is law and just. However I'm willing to admit that I'm afraid to die, and I am glad that my time isn't here yet. I don't want to leave before I've made some kind of mark and did some kind of good.
Okay, enough of the heavy stuff. Dennis is picking me up tonight to go to Best Buy (lucky me) and tonight we're watching Casablanca. And tomorrow, on to Top of The Park (or whatever hell it's called, that thing on top of the Power Center).
See ya!
Wassalam....
Just the ramblings of a Malaysian girl who traded Kuala Lumpur for Seattle to be an independent working girl.
I'm moving my updates to a different blog, http://www.farah-faisal.blogspot.com, since it's an easier address to remember and spell. It's been a great ride updating this blog, hope you'll follow me on to the next chapter!

Assalamu'alaikum...
Okay, so right now I'm at work, having lunch and taking a break. Surprisingly enough I have work to do today, typing out stuff, answering numerous phone calls and sorting out bucketload of mails. Now that I have some breathing space, I decided to pen in and write something just for the hell of it.
Okay, so my weekend was uneventful but productive. Did my groceries (jerusalem, scrubbed my filthy hot plate (it's white, so you really need your elbow into it), scrubbed the bathroom, scrubbed the sink, went to the gym and studied (kinda) What Every Driver Must Know book.
Right now I'm freaking out because my account statement has this HUGE balance that I didn't even realize was incurred on me, and I just found out that I may actually have to pay using my own money. Aaaaaaccckk!! I did NOT work just so that the financial office can fuck me over like this man, this is sooo freakin' ridiculous. But I'm handling it (kinda) and it'll be okay (hopefully)...or else I'm gonna go home and cry to mommy. *Sigh*... I can't wait to go home....
Home to my mom and my dad and my brothers... home to my sister-in-law (the best in the world)... home to my nephew and niece... home to Cik Pi... home to roti canai and nasi lemak in the mornings... home to yong tau foo and sate for dinner...home to the sound of Azan from the mosque... home to Akademi Fantasia and other Malay-speaking TV shows... home to my friends ... home to parties at the condo... home to late night rides with my cuzzy... all I wanna do right now is pack my bags and just go home..

Assalamu'alaikum...
Yesterday was a pretty long day for me, long in a good way. After work, Dennis picked me up and we went to watch Harry Potter at Quality 16 theatre. We were kinda late getting in, so we missed the first few minutes, but I really enjoyed the movie. Would I say that it's better than the previous two? I dunno, more like it's different than the other ones. For one thing, Harry was more like a teen in this one rather than a kid. However, I do think the special effects were better than the last one, even though the dementors did look like ripped dishrags.
After the movies, we went back to Dennis' house to have dinner with his parents, the second time this summer. We had burgers, coleslaws and some good conversations. After that, they showed me their fire pit, built a fire to show how it works, and Dennis then tried to teach me how to swing a baseball bat. Growing up, I never did learn how to play volleyball, or baseball, or softball, or other stuff that people immediately assume one should know. Swinging that baseball bat yesterday felt weird because I never did that before, but after a few swings, it felt okay. I wasn't good at it, but then it was never my aim to actually be good, just passable enough so that no wayward balls would hit me.
Dennis let me borrow his Family Guy DVDs, which I'm gonna have to watch on my computer since I don't have a DVD player anymore. I LOVE Family Guy, it's so ridiculously obscene that you just can't help but enjoy it. I haven't found a girl who shares my sentiments yet about overly obscene animated series (South Park, Family Guy, Aqua Teens, The Simpsons, Sealab etc.), but I'm hoping. Come to think of it, I don't really know a guy yet, aside from Dennis, who shares my love for adult-oriented-but-not-porn-related cartoons. It seems to me that people my age think that unless it's anime, then no animated series is worth watching. Some of them don't even think any animated series is worth watching if you're, oh let's say, over 18. Thing is, if you let a kid watch something like Family Guy, then you're nuts and just begging for trouble because you're raising a kid who's probably gonna jack off in the bathroom during recess and thinks it's okay to call a black person "nigger" and a gay man "fairy". It's adult oriented, and I think it's a harmless piece of fun as long as you know it's all IN the name of fun and you don't get sucked into behaving like Peter Griffin does. Is it offensive? Sure, maybe, then again porn is offensive and yet the X-rated industry make billions each year. Thing is, like porn, adult cartoons may offend and they may not, if you don't like it then don't watch it, do not give me grief about it (which triggers this paragraph long rant....).
Oh and by the way, I rarely read back what I wrote before hitting the "Publish Post" button, so don't start getting all sarcastic with me about my atrocious spelling or how my sentences don't make sense because I'm missing a "not" or an "of" somewhere. At least I'm producing a literary (if I may call it that) piece that actually has my thoughts and feelings in it, something that I can read weeks, maybe years from now and still laugh and say, "I used to get so worked up about the stupidest stuff". What do you have? Just all your sarcastic comments and your vicious words against other people you put down because your own like is a pathetic piece of junk. Asshole. Get a life.
I read in a Sidney Sheldon novel, a quote that went along something like this "Never assume, it makes an ASS out of U and ME". Do not assume that if you feel that something is hard for you, then it will automatically be hard for me. Don't assume that if you felt this situation really tried your nerves, then if you put me in it, I'll automatically break down and cry. Don't assume that if I cry, it's because I'm weak, maybe it's better for m to cry rather than ravage another person with cutting words and my anger. Because I think through the way I handled myself through all the shit that happened to me this year, and how I handled all of the mishandled criticisms I had of "taking advantage of the situation", I think I did pretty well, thank you very much. I didn't turn to mush. I didn't break down completely even when all I wanted to do was to leave everything and run away. Most of the time, I refrained from letting my emotions from controlling my head and cloud my judgment. I didn't use PMS as a reason to suddenly be angry with someone for no reason (well maybe once or twice, but mostly I just stayed away from people in general because during that time of the month, people piss me off, I don't wanna be around things that pisses me). And if I do get angry, I don't get VERBAL. How do I let my anger out? By writing and writing and writing....
What makes a good piece of essay, a good novel, a good book? What makes an entry in an online journal good? When people say it's good? When a lot of people buy the book, the newspaper, come to the website? When people compliment you about it?
For me, something is good when you can read something and know that it actually comes from the heart, not just facts, because a heart feels, beats to the rhythm not only of the body but the mind and the soul. Facts? Using the words that so often describe "facts", they're hard and cold...
Okay, I'm off from work, time to go home and be happy again. Bye!

Assalmu'alaikum...
Just got this from my sister-in-law, wanna share it with the rest of you guys. Enjoy!
Menjaga kesihatan adalah dituntut oleh Agama. Banyak cara menjaga kesihatan tubuh badan maupun dari segi sains dan diajar oleh Al-Quran antaranya adalah spt:-
1. Bersenam @ beriadah.
2. Makan Pil melangsingkan badan.
3. Mengawal makanan.
Tahukah anda mengamal minum secawan air teh "O" setiap pagi boleh mengawal berat badan anda. Isyaallah jika anda mengamalkannya, berat badan anda akan berkurangan. (memang terbukti keberkesanan).
Al-Quran Juga ada mengajar kita menjaga kesihatan spt membuat amalan spt:-
1. Mandi Pagi sebelum subuh @ sekurang kurangnya sejam sebelum matahari naik. Air sejuk yang meresap kedalam badan boleh mengurangkan lemak mengumpul. Kita boleh saksikan orang mengamal mandi pagi kebanyakan
badan tak gemuk.
2. Rasulullah mengamalkan minum segelas air sejuk setiap pagi. Mujarabnya Insayallah jauh dari penyakit susah nak kena sakit).
3. waktu sembahyang subuh disunatkan kita bertafakur (iaitu sujud sekurang kurangnya seminit selepas membaca doa).
Wassalam...
Sabda nabi Ilmu itu milik tuhan, barang siapa menyebarkan ilmu demi kebaikkan insyaallah tuhan akan mengandakan 10 kali kepadanya.

Assalmu'alaikum...
Yeah, so I haven't penned in for quite a few days now, not that anybody's been reading (which is a good thing, because aside from some personal friends I love and I know won't bitch about me behind my back, I don't really want people reading this stuff anyway).
Today and for the rest of my working girl duration, I'll be working everyday from 11am to 4pm, 9 to 3pm on Fridays. That's almost like a full time job. People would think that since I basically do nothing except answer phones and give directions to people who managed to get themselves lost be it in the building or anywhere around North Campus, it's an easy job and I shouldn't be tired. But I am. Which got me to thinking that either there's something wrong with me, or my general perception abot jobs is completely bogus. A job is a job, be it sitting on a chair and running errands and typing, or driving a truck across state borders or diving for pearls in the ocean. At the end of the day, it still saps your strength, just that my job saps less strength than Mr. Trucker guy so after a little nap I'm all fresh again... barely.
Today I also got an email from my travel agent about sending him payments for my plane tickets. I made my cashiers check, and Deera and I are gonna post payments tomorrow. Hopefully those tickets arrive on time or I'm gonna be reaaaaallly mad.I've bought presents and stuff for my family and friends, it would be so much a waste if I can't go home. Plus that would mean missing out on meeting my darling niece, and that would NOT be such a good thing.
Now, you know you gotta expand your horizons when you situations like this happens to you:
Situation 1: At the bank...
Teller 1: How may I help you?
Me: I would like to make a cashiers check please for (amount)
Teller waaaay at end of table: Are you going back to Malaysia? Because I made a couple of checks for Malaysian students
Situation 2: In the International Center office...
Me: Hi, I'd like to get my I-20 signed
Woman:(without even LOOKING at my I-20) Ahh, making a trip back to Malaysia too, right?
I looked on the pile beside her table, the box was filled with Malaysian I-20s
Situation 3: In the office ...
My bosses talked about different building managers and set-up crew, and I knew every single name they mentioned. My boss talked to me about going home, and said boss knows about remote cities in Malaysia. Random people come into the office and the line is "This is Farah, our Clerk D and another Malaysian".
Situation 4: Jerusalem
Guy at the counter knows every single Malaysian girls, even if he doesn't know their names. How do I know this? His favorite line is "Oh, your friend is here shopping too" and lo and behold, there a Malaysian girl would stand.
I know all of us live in the same community and stuff, but this is freakin' ridiculous. All of this (except Situation 4, that happens all year round) happened in the span of three weeks. It's just so freaky, I'm not exactly sure if I like it or not when people identify me first by my nationality and then by me. Does this make sense? Oh well...
I'm going to watch Harry Potter tomorrow, yay! Heheh.. so it's kinda late, so what? I've been a busy girl lately, what with work and stuff, plus I didn't want to spend extreme amounts of money before I pay my travel agent. Now that I know what I have left (I have a couple of paychecks coming still, so I'm in a pretty good position), I can budget accordingly :) .
Okay, I'm gonna go pray and play Theme Hospital now, bubbye and wassalam....

Assalamu'alaikum...
Muahaha, there's only 2 people in the office right now, Merry and moi. As usual, the less people there are in the office, the more phone calls I have to answer. I'm getting better at it. It was kinda hard the first few times because you have the remember which buttons to press if you want to pick up any phone in the office, then what buttons to press to transfer each calls (it's unique for each person in the office), and then how to take messages because everyone in the office likes their messages taken differently. In a way, it's good that I have an easy job right now instead of being a research assistant or a consultant somewhere (Kate recommended me this consulting job at the School of Nursing), which would have meant I won't be able to go home for the summer, which would have sucked soooo bad.
I'm currently reading this book called "Reading Lolita in Tehran" by Azar Nafisi. Katharine, my boss during the fall and winter semesters, asked me to read it to get my point of view, being the only Muslim girl in the office, and from a progressive Islamic country at that.Katharine has a book club she belongs to, and none of the members are Muslims, so she thought it would be interesting to see what I think of it.
I've only started reading the book, so I can't comment yet, all I can say right now is I have some pretty mixed emotions about it...
Okay, I want to continue reading now, will pen in again in about an hour or so.

Assalamu'alaikum...
I'm at work again, just finished my EECS 484 exam. Verdict: ewwww! Something stinks! What was that? Oh, it's the smell of my grade on this subject! Haiyak!... Actually, I might not have done quite so bad, though, I think I knew more than in this exam than the last one.
I am currently at work, of course, but today, I brought something very, very special with me. My baby, the (current) love of my life, the reason why I smile everytime I go into my room.... my laptop! (What did you think, a guy? Yeah, right!) It arrived yesterday and I was so excited. Today I brought it along to the office to try out the whole wireless thing (plus apparently my room can't get any engineering sites, so all work must be done here, I need to remind myself to call ResComp about it). So now I'm downloading all the SSH stuff and the drives that I need to get into my AFS space.
I just realized that I didn't put my Snapfish link in, oops. I'll get it in, I promise :).
Okay, Im kinda sleepy right now, so I'm just gonna doze off while no one's in the office. Ciao!

Assalamu'alaikum...
Just realized my blog hasn't been working for a couple of days, stupid-o thingy... anyway it's up again now, another pink layout (if you expected anything else then you obviously don't know the pink-freak I am). I also put a link to my Snapfish account so you can see some (selected) photos. I actually haven't uploaded any new ones yet, so you might wanna skip that one.
Last Saturday I went shopping at Birchrun with the girls and Jun (which reminds me, thank you Jun for taking me to the hospital during my back pain thingy, I appreciate it so much, you're never gonna read this but what the heck, I'll write it anyway just on the off chance you might stumble here, thanks to Ayun and Dee too, much love). Went into Oh Kosh B'Gosh and Gap Kids and spent some serious cash there. Can't wait to get kids of my own, shopping for baby clothes is really.. er.. cute (wha..?). Seriously, baby dresses are adorable, the detailing is better than even the party tops that I wear back in "those days" (and that's saying something). Talking about shopping reminds me of my favorite time of the year....
VICTORIA'S SECRET SEMI-ANNUAL SALE!!!
One of the reasons why my "for private viewing only" drawer is filled to the rim with VS logo. And the perfume.... Heavenly is exactly that, heavenly. Anyway, this time I might have to shop for other people, because my girl friends in Malaysia have gotten bolder and asked for VS stuff (nak buat ape, I wonder... hehe.. tanduk tanduk). Oh well, tgk duit camane, duit gaji tak masuk lagik.
Last Thursday I got my brochure for the ParisTech, made me feel kinda sad that I'm not going. If things were just a little different (like if I didn't have a sucky year and be so emotionally drained and need to recuperate at home with my darling babies) I would definitely go to Paris and not go home (money constraint, can't do both), I mean going to school in another country should be an interesting experience. But I have to go back home, I just need to be home this year, this year sucks sooooo bad..
Boss is back, gotta go, bye!

Assalamu'alaikum...
Currently at work right now... I am so dead meat. Maybe I should start at the beginning...
So yeah, yesterday Nick, Kate and I worked on the program because it's due noon today. We started working from when I got off from work, which was around 3 o'clock. I was actually quite apprehensive because we still had some functions not working, and I wasn't sure until what time all of us were willing to work. As it is, we stayed in the Space Research lab until close to 2.30 in the morning (holy shit! That's almost 12 hours!), and Nick had already been there since 11 am (he works there).
I have to admit, that was probably the most fun I ever had in any group meeting in my life. Deadline was approaching, but all of us goofed off (usually at my expense, of course, LoL), so the atmosphere never got really tense. Kate and I took turns touching Nick's military haircut (fuzzy, feels like a carpet). Best of all, we had PIZZA!! ... from Pizza House, and 2 orders of breadsticks... yummy ... made a mess out of the lab, which Nick had to clean (LoL).
So after we finished our program, we went to Kinko's to bind our project report (at 2.30 in the morning), and I didn't go to sleep until 4 am. I've always been really careful about setting my alarm clock, especially yesterday when I know I have to get up at 8 to get to work at 9 am. So I woke up this morning, and my alarm clock said it was 7.30 in the morning, which isn't bad.... if it was actually 7.30 in the morning. I looked out to window, because it was pretty dark due to the rain clouds, and I caught a glimpse of my wristwatch. It was 10 am. 10!!! I jumped out of bed, dialed Sam's (my boss) phone number, and frantically apologized for not being there yet. Turns out, I got really lucky today, since Sam didn't even know I was supposed to be in until 11 am, so she said it was okay and I can just get there whenever. However, it wasn't Sam I was worried about....
But I'm here, in the office, and everybody else is in the staff meeting. Luckily, the phone is pretty quiet today, so I get to do this... updating my blog, which "some" people say they can't open anymore (sucks, doesn't it? LoL) since I updated the layout. Muahahaha (queue evil laugh)
Anyway, peeps, I need to get on reading my GRE handbook, so catch ya later!!

Assalamu'alaikum...
How long has it been since I last updated my blog? Freakin' long, I should think. Sorry, been really busy lately, with the new job and all. Lemme start off with WHEN I left off...
MIDWEST WEEKEND
Held at the University Of Minnesota, Twin Cities, my car (driven by Faridal and Fazari, with me, Eng Lee and Keju as passengers) arrived kinda early, 10pm Minny time. When I got there, who else was there to assault me but my favorite Gopher, Dias, who jumped on me like nobody's business and wrestled me to the ground. Luckily, no one had a video camera, so it didn't make into the Midwest Moments that organizers ALWAYS show at the Midwest dinner. Hahah.. Still, it was the first time I did a Hindustan moment in public (minus that mock video clip time when I had to run across the Diag holding a scarf with a Spanish song in the background, but that's a whole different story altogether...)
Okay, so we sent in a soccer team, an indoor soccer team, ping-pong individuals and probably something else that I can't remember. The result: we swept away all ping pong medals (yeaaaahhhh Wolverines!!!), won the silver medal in soccer, and won the bronze in indoor soccer (yours truly was goalie, heheh). Best of all, I had the honor of announcing soccer and indoor soccer winners in the prize-giving ceremony, It was awesome, I got to yell "Wolverines!" in front of people and I actually had a reason for doing it. My partner, Ikram, and I basically BS-ed everything on stage and I think I made a boo-boo when I said I only let one goal from Northwestern go through (it was actually 2, but 1 was technically not my fault, so I keep forgetting that one... oopis).
It's great seeing Dias again after 3 years, and Piejo.... if I only need one reason to go, it would be too see my girls :) . Pics coming soon, as soon as I get my computer fixed. Which brings me to my next thing.....
SONY VAIO V505EX
Saw it on a website, fell for it REALLY bad, calculated my budget, then bought it, currently waiting for it to arrive. Nuff said and drool.........
CLERK D POSITION
I work everyday except weekends, 22 hours per week, 7.75 bucks per hour. Money money money... Of course, I get really tired and would fall asleep at the desk, then again, my job basically consisted of answering phone calls, then sitting around waiting for a couple of hours until I could go home. Easy peasy.
EECS 484 PROJECTS
Currently working with Kate and Nick, which is cool because they are :) . Though I receive some pretty weird ideas from them, like "You should watch porn". Right, I gag when someone sent me a 5-second blowjob footage of a Britney look-alike, I would probably pass out from full on porn. Full on nudity is okay, but carnal acts... ermm... I'll pass on that :).
MY NIECE
Aishah Adlina.... I love you, and I can't wait to hold you and hug you and kiss you when I get back home, you sweet, sweet, precious lil' thing you..
MY BLOGGER
Journal has a new look. Surprisingly enough, I couldn't find a new picture where I was wearing a pink "tudung", so here's an old one that I'm sure you've seen countless times before (because it's in my Friendster, too), I need some new "pink" pics man...
Okay... enough of those.... I'm tired and a program is waiting for me to debug it, so ciao, take care and Assalamu'alaikum....

Assalamu'alaikum...
It's been ages since I've last updated this thing... and unfortunately, I don't have time to pen in anything right now. So I'm making it fast: Midwest 2004 Games this weekend. Indoor soccer. Staying with Dias, Kong and KB whom I've missed like crazy (Sue!!! I miss you the most scarecrow ). Haven't seen Dias in 3 fuckin' years. Expect no sleep from catching up. Project and hw to do, meeting with prof right now, just finished exam. Life, as I know it, officially sucks. Going back home in July, I hope, to see new baby (Aishah Adlina, 2 1/2 months old, has red face that scrunch up like a prune). I currently have a zit the size of New Mexico smack dab at the side of my nose. Why can't I just have mood swings and be a b**** like every other girl? Me no time to write more, hafta get to appointment. Ta!

Assalamu'alaikum and Hello!.......
Okay, I'm at work right now and everything is surprisingly slow. I was expecting the office to be flooded with activities since today is the second day of the Stress Buster program. Stress Buster is this program that me and a few other people had been working for the past few weeks. What we do was to design some arts and crafts activities for people to do while taking a break from studying for finals. Plus we're giving away Stress Kits that has coupons, a Blue Book and stress-busting toys in them.
Yesterday, the office started off the program over in Bursley Hall, where they had a booth that people can come over to pick up their Stress Kits and to decorate a flower pot and make their own flowers. When Katharine first came up with the idea, I couldn't imagine it, but on Tuesday I helped make a few samples for display and the pots and flowers were actually kinda cute. I felt like a little kid again. Unfortunately, I couldn't come to the real deal yesterday at Bursley because of a sorority spa night, which brings me to the second part of my oh-so-eventful life.
Yesterday was Phi Rho's spa night. We went to try out (and buy) new products from Mary Kay (that's the brand) and do some manicures and pedicures in the process. The real story isn't about the spa night itself, but about what happens before that.
So yesterday I had a teeny weeny craving for biryani rice, but looking at my current bank account statement, I can barely afford to go out and smell biryani at a restaurant, let alone buy one. So I, being the resourceful individual that I am, decided to cook, and since it's never fun to eat biryani rice alone, I decided to make 2, 3 batches of it so I can share around (it's always nice to share, isn't it?)
So at 5.10 pm, I had just finished putting the first batch into the rice cooker, and was heating up the gravy for the second batch, when Tina called and said "So yeah, meet me out front in 5 minutes to go to Melody's house" (Melody is the Mary Kay lady). So I turned off my stove (or so I thought), leave my rice cooker on "heat", and went out the door, not expecting that it would run up to 9.30 pm.
I was having fun at Melody's house, trying out new stuff and buying things, but in the back of my head, I was counting the minutes until we can go home so I don't leave whatever guests that I had already invited starving to death. We left at 8.45, making good time for me to arrive back home by 9, when suddenly everyone had a craving for Slurpees. So we stopped at 7 Eleven (I got a jumbo humongous Slurpee myself), and I ended up arriving home at 9.30 pm. I told Dee that the latest I was gonna be was 8.30. This is an hour later than that.
I walked through my door, smelled the biryani and felt kinda weird, it wasn't supposed to smell that strong. I looked into the pot and all of the gravy was gone! Holy shit! I looked at the stove, and realized I didn't completely turn it off, it was set on low, but after4 hours, things do tend to evaporate from the pot. Luckily enough, there was enough meat and veggie to salvage, but no gravy to make the seocnd batch.
The first one turned out okay (the color was really pretty, though it was a bit soft, but hey, I'll do better next time), so I had over the few people that I had originally invited, plus a few others that just happened to come across my path for that night (it was all according to luck kinda thing). Oh, i didn't sleep, too, until 7 am, I was too wired for some reason.
So that was my eventful day. I bought a body mist from Mary Kay called Embrace Harmony. The smell is so, so good. I always feel really protective of my perfume because it's really expensive (I love my VS Heavenly perfume, but it costs me an arm and a leg to buy one), so I don't wear it that much, but the body spray is only 18 bucks, and it smells really, really good. Love it! there's a story behind it, too, but we'll leave it for next time :) ....
GOOD LUCK FOR FINALS, WOLVERINES!!!!

EASTER WEEKEND!!!
Assalamu'alaikum...
Currently at work right now, feeling guilty because I was MIA on Tuesday. Yesterday's Tech Com 281 presentation sucks, aaaarrghhhhh!!!!! I hated it. I'm so not good as bullshitting about stuff in front of people, I need facts and lots of them, then I can present. But to tell me to "wing it" 5 minutes before presentation is guaranteed to make me wanna pee in my pants.
Talking about pants, I seriously need to go shopping and buy myself some fat pants. Not exercising for 3 months = extremely huge hips that won't fit into my jeans anymore. Dang it. I hate being a CS major nowadays because it means I have to concentrate on what I have to do instead of what I wanna do. This is probably why I was so hell bent on joining Phi Sigma Rho in the first place just to force myself not to sit in my room and worry about the never ending homework and studying.
I wonder, do any of my fellow female Wolverines feel like raiding Briarwood Mall or Arborland tomorrow afternoon? I feel like going out (and buying some fat pants or sweats) and just blow off some cash tomorrow…. maybe even go to that new Oxygen bar that had just opened. No, dummy, it’s not a real bar, it’s a place where you go and breathe specially formulated oxygen (weird eh?). It was all the rage in Hollywood, and now that it’s not quite so fabulous there anymore, of course it found it’s way to Ann Arbor.
I read in the paper the other day that Ann Arbor is the 6th least stressful town to live in. Uh-huh. Try going here and see how “un-stressful” our lives really are. Just because we don’t have honking cars all day or 24-hour bars or a strip club for every square mile, doesn’t mean Ann Arbor is sooooooo desirable to live in. Rents are high, everything’s expensive, eating out can cost you an arm and a leg and malls here are no taller than 2 stories high. Don’t get me wrong, I do Heart Ann Arbor (like the t-shirt), but it’s kinda ridiculous to name it 6th Most Desirable Town To Live In. Oh well…
Okay, I need to get back to work. Ciao! Trust me, I’ll pen in again in, oh, let’s say half an hour.
Wassalam…

Assalamu'alaikum.....
No quotable quote for today, just a new layout :), and a new song. Actually it's an old one by Brad Kane and Lea Salonga. People can probably tell I haven't downloaded anything good since my computer got reformatted. Actually, I do have some new songs, but I want something Extremely Mellow for today... or this week, or this month, depending on the next time I updated my blog, heheh. But anyway, need to get ready for class! Ciao!

Assalamu'alaikum and hello :) ....
QUOTABLE QUOTE FOR THE DAY: ".... I'm going to put you in my to do list." ---> Jackass
Okay, so there's two parts to this entry. First one is my oh-so-eventful Friday night, and second is the Relay for Life event held at Palmer Filed yesterday.
FRIDAY NIGHT
Yeah, so me being an idiot who doesn't have time to study during the weekend because of the Relay, decided to blow my Friday night too by trying to find something else to do (e.g parties, dances, movies ...) and ended up dragging Elly with me. I had a couple of invites to stuff, and there was the Spring Gala that I was interested to go, so there was plenty of things to do (kinda, because they're all almost the same thing).
The Spring Gala was a bust because no one was there and we decided not to go . There was barely enough people to fill a table, let alone a ballroom. I attribute that to extremely poor publicity because other than the email, there was no flyers or posters or anything else that might attract normal engineers to it ( normal = The Dude isn't the only place outside his room that you can see him at ).
But we managed to find something to do ...... then headed off to Pinball Pete's for about a half hour of shooting people's heads off and getting chopped by crazy zombies.
RELAY FOR LIFE (BARU HABES SEMALAM)
Yeah, okay, so yesterday I went to my sorority retreat, which is the Relay For Life, held at Palmer Field. I arrived there with Tina and Carly at 2 pm, and we're supposed to stay there until 10 pm, because that's the mandatory shift. So the day started out all sunny and nice, there were a few girls sunning, and people were walking and jogging around the track and talking and basically having fun. I walked for 6 laps, then I saw the pizza at our place and swerved straight into it for lunch, hehehe. After that, it was a game of Euchre for me and a few girls, and some of the others played Red Rover (macam main galah panjang sikit-sikit). After that, some of us formed two teams to play soccer. Haha.. it was hillarious, I kept getting hit by the ball, and it kept coming straight at me, but my team lost by 1 anyway. It was great fun, though I was wheezing by the end of it because I haven't exercised in ages, and it was getting reaaaaaaalllllyyy cold. So by 5 o'clock it was getting windy, then sunny, then windy and stayed that way. At around 7 we built a tent, and by 7.30 it was pouring for the rest of the night.
After that I was downright miserable because of the cold (I had only my green hoodie, a pair of t-shirts and a track bottom) and it was beginning to SNOW! The weather was horrible, but we made the best of it by playing Never Have I Ever.... then say something you've never done. I always win, of course, because I never damn well did anything. The girls decided to chet by saying "Never have I ever lived in Malaysia" so I have to say I've done that. But it was good fun while it lasted, even if it was damn cold.
so 10 pm came, and I so wasn't looking forward to my shift at 2 am till 6 am, so I decided to go back home, take a bath, and then come back again. I took my bath, had dinner with Nik (Dinersty, as always), then bundled up for my shift.... only to find out that the rest of the Relay was cancelled due to "unsafe weather". Well, it was unsafe, people can get pneumonia last night. So I collapsed back into bed and slept until now.
I just wanna say thanks again to Adlee, Dayang, Kak Mel, Azwan , Nik and also my parents for donating money towards the relay. Your donation is so greatly appreciated :), waking up this morning I felt great about having done something good for our fight against cancer, even if I am currently having a slight fever and my legs are sore from walking and soccer.
Okay, so I have to go study now, thanks for reading if you are, and I rpomise to get that damn song off my site :) . Ciao!

QUOTABLE QUOTE FOR THE DAY: "Life does not suck.... you do." --> Me
YESTERDAY'S QUOTABLE QUOTE WAS: "You're about as hot as yesterday's coffee.... in the fridge." --> Kate
TOMORROW'S QUOTABLE QUOTE (since I won't have time too put it in): "Of course you don't have to be Wonder Woman, honey... just have her boobs" --> Mr. Asswipe to someone
I'm doing Relay For Life tomorrow! Can't wait! It should be excellent fun... and a lot of work. But still, it's for a good cause, so I'm happy :) . The downside of it, I only have 10 bucks in donations right now from Adlee (time kacih Adlee, jasamu dikenang. ) , and tambah dengan my own donation... that doesn't leave me with much. I'm hoping to earn at least 100 bucks, guess I have to lower the goal to 50 bucks then :( . But anyway, if you STILL want to donate (there's still time!), please click here to donate to Relay For Life!!
Okay, I'm working right now, and I have to get on to it (did I say I love my job?) so I'll pen in later, okay? Hopefully with news from the Relay!

Assalamu'alaikum....
Hey peeps! Please click here to donate to Relay For Life!! . Any sort of donation is completely appreciated, of course.
Yeah, I'm doing some community service before the semester is over. The event is next week, by the way, so anybody wanting to make a contribution, please do :) . Any money given, even a dollar, is truly appreciated. Relay For Life is under the American Cancer Society, and all contributions go towards finding a cure for the disease and help fight cancer worldwide.
Funny, I started out doing this because of a sorority requirement, and suddenly it became very personal to me. My grampa on my mom's side died of stomach cancer, and my grandma (arwah's wife) was diagnosed with breast cancer not too long ago. Even though the growth was completely removed, she still has to do regular check-ups, just in case. I mean, I know we had some history in my family, but I didn't know about all this until me and my mom stumbled upon the subject when we were talking. Suddenly I'm glad I'm doing the relay.....
Okay, I have to get on studying now, but remember people, donate!! Till later, ciao!

Assalamu'alaikum
Ngahaha... hari tuh tgh buat projek Tech Com 281, kene carik list of clubs yang wujud kat Umich nie.... Tetibe, jumpe lah this one:
Sketsa! (Malaysian Students' Association)
Nie sure zaman batu punye list, dah berape tahun dah name kitorang UMIMSA. Dah lah name Sketsa tuh ade tande seru kat hujung die. Hok aloh. Nasib baik skang dah tukar name. Kalau tak, malu jek.
Anyway, tadi konon-konon buat homework ngan Ijat, pastu ade lah graph nie, pastu dekat graph tuh ade due nodes yang memasing bernama Burglary ngan Earthquake. Pastu kitorang pun tgh nak mereason graph tuh (sebab sume bende tak make sense)....
Aku : Eh, cube compare graph nie. Apsal kat sini ade arrow from Earthquake to Burglary?
Ijat : Ooo sebab kalau ade earthquake org lagi nak keluar merompak...
Aku : (*snort!*, tgh tahan gelak) Ape pulak, kalau earthquake lah orang lagi tanak keluar sebab takut
Ijat : Tak lah, time earthquake, tgh huru-hare, so org tak pay attention ko merompak. Tapi nie aku pandai-pandai je, jgn ikut cakap aku.
Hahahahahahah.... power punye reasoning. Lepas tuh conversation berenti jap sebab aku takleh nak berenti gelak, sambil tuh Ijat cakap "siot ko!". Hahaha... sayang ko Ijat, jangan mare, kalau takde ko bosan sume orang, termasuklah aku :). Lepas habes gelakkan Ijat, die kene gie kelas, so tinggal sengsorang.... and datanglah pembalasan..... sebab gelakkan orang, tadi tgh2 seronok bace buku, someone gie terkejutkan from belakang. Ter melatah "Oh f*** you!" . Dang.. pusing tgk my cutie classmate from previous semester, Mr. Blondie yang suke panggil aku "shrimp, how ya doin'?". Mase tuh muke dah merah, die pun terkejut kejap (ye lah, before this depan die baik je), ngaha, pastu cakap lah sori bebanyak, tercakap sebab terkejut. Lagi embarrassing... hari nie konon nak jadi nerd gile, nak duduk kat MU lame2, so pakai baju yang sememeh lagi comfy..... tshirt lengan panjang corak biru ngan sluar track matching biru yang ade koyak kecik kat lutut sebab jatuh main b-ball. Suffice to say, macam org baru bangun tidoq. Dang.... nasib baik tgh duduk, so die tak nampak koyak nye. But still.... malu jugaaaa.....
Okkeh, sekarang satu hapak pun tak masuk, and exam and hw sume due besok. Minggu yang sangat taik. Worse, nak kene decide if I really nak depledge from the sorority... sebab duit satu, sebab mase satu, but we'll see, sebab sayang lah pulak. Anyway, until exam habes, babai!

Assalamu'alaikum...
Okay, so I know I suck at updating regularly nowadays, but I'm seriously busy this week. So further updates will have to wait until my program is finished. Thank you so much to Ijat and Kirah sebab kalau takde diorang, alamat tak pass lah kelas EECS 370 nie. My subjects suck ass this semester, and I honestly wish that I don't give a flying fuck what I get, but since I do, hence the no-sleep-nights. I even missed a sorority meeting. Oopsy. We'll have to rectify a lot of stuff before the term is over.
Anywa, new song by Tyra Banks. Love it so much, especially since I'm so hooked on America's Next Top Model. The kicked out Sara, so GO SHANDI!! Twigs rule!
Okay, back to programming...

Assalamu'alaikum...
Great, I have mild bronchitis. Thank goodness I went to the UHS before it got any worse. But anyway, I was feeling fine one minute, and then had this big headache the next, plus my throat itched and my nose was running like Watson Nyambek chased by a rabid dog. Suffice to say, I knw right away it wasn't normal flu (my normal flu syndroms are very, very mild... what can I say? I eat a lot of fruit and veggies). Went to the UHS, was told "good thing you came in before it got any worse", and was prescribed a couple of antibiotics, and to stay away from people for a day and see if symptoms got any worse or not. I stayed away for only half a day because I had a group meeting to go to, but I'm not letting anyone share any drinks with me. Anyway, aside from looking Rudolph the nosed reindeer, I'm feeling okay.
Still haven't gotten my Wario yet, but I'm enjoying Donkey Kong tremendously, though I felt like an idiot once Elly showed me how to get out of the darn cabin. And apparently, overgrown apes can play DDR too.
Anyway, got the nicest e-card today from the most unexpected person. Thank you :) . Heheh... haven't decided if I'm going back home this summer or not, but I'm definitely keeping this person in mind if I do.
Yesterday was my EECS 492 exam. It killed me so bad, I was drained afterwards. Right before that, I received a phone call from the person me and arwah Teh used to call "mami" , Auntie Maharom. It was kinda surprising, considering I don't hold any ranks in UMIMSA. We talked about stuff (budak2 Umich yang tak hantar transcript lagi, silelah hantar, aku dah hantar dah, heheh) like academics and general stuff. She does remind me a lot of my own mom. Unfortunately, couldn't talk for long because I had that damn exam.
My phone has been ringing off the hook today, with calls for meetings and stuff. It's been insane. Anyway, homework galore tonite, so tata!

SNAPSHOTS FROM WARIO WARE
Baru place order for Wario Ware semalam... nyam nyam, can't wait. Skarang tgh main Donkey Kong Country, akhirnye lepas jugak from that damn pokok sebab Elly tunjuk button mane nak tekan kalau nak lompat jauh2. Keskeskes... Wario Ware nie pulak, hook mase kat Illinois, main Gameboy Sheila, tetibe rase best lah pulak, addictive gile. So skang tgh tunggu die dtg, yea yea. Skang tgh bengong dengan Donkey Kong sebab die stuck kat Cranky's Cabin and tanak kluar-kluar, ikut Elly nak kene main je sampai die kluar. Tapi geram lah jugak sebab alih-alih kene tengok muke monyet tue tuh je cakap mende2 yang ntah hape-hape. Hai.. Gameboy nie je lah yang termampu nak main, nak beli console macam Gamecube ke, PS2 ke, tarak duit.
Tadi mak call from ofis die, pakai handphone. Mentang-mentang ade international roaming, heheh. Mak bising "Sim kad awak tuh ade international roaming jugak, Farah je tanak bawak." Habes tuh mane nak carik handphone, mahal gile. Mak kate nak hantar hp from Mesia, org kate takyah sebab lagi murah nak call pakai phonecard, malas nak layan songeh handphone (for now). Pastu mak cakap "Mak bayar $1,180 kat William suruh buat baju tige pasang. Tuh upah jahit je tu, tak masuk kain. Kain sume free". Mak cakap bapak bising sebab mahal, tapi bapak bising kejap je sebab die tak penah pun nak bising lame2. So pegi lah tanye mak, camane boleh mahal sangat. Mak cakap sebab baju sume ade sulam (plus org agak lah kan, sebab William tuh mmg cekik darah pun). Sulam cantik, sambung mak. Pulak dah. So org pun tanye lah, baju mahal-mahal mak nak pakai bile? Pegi ofis ke? Pastu nie lah part best: " Ape pulak baju mak, tige-tige baju Farah punye". Lagi sekali.... pulak dah. Mak datuk, baju sepasang dekat nak empat ratus ringgit upah, jahit je, nasib baik kain orang kasi buat bedey present and saje gatal-gatal nak kasi present. Patut lah bulan nie, kalau charge pape kat credit card bapak, die tak tanye pape, rerupenye bapak tgh sibuk ngan mak punye charges. Hahaha.. patutlah rumah kitorang cipo'et je, nasib baik rumah low maintenance, duit sume pegi kat isi-isi dalam. Hari tuh beli TV baru sebab budak kecik umur due tahun kat rumah tuh nak tgk Roda Impian 24/7. So bapak beli TV baru for Jajiq. TV flat-screen 36 (ke 32) inches..... for budak umur 2 tahun. Family best, tapi duit every month kluar macam air. Nasib baik bapak tak kisah, hot temper die pun belum lagi die nak bising pasal duit, sume jalan aje.
Okkeh, sambung study and buat homework. Sape yang bace nie, time kacih kerane sudi membace :).

Assalamu'alaikum...
Hahah... didn't go to the OPT workshop. They're having one next week over at Pierpont, so I'm gonna go to that one so I don't have to wait for the bus for 30 freakin' minutes. Spent the morning grocery shopping, filling out credit card forms, reading and enjoying my Gameboy. I'm stuck on this one part of Donkey Kong Country, somehow I just can't seem to swing far enough to get to the next tree.
I can't wait till next weekend, I'll finally be able to call home and talk to Nenek. I hope all the crap that happened this week isn't gonna happen next week. I mean, there was a bunch of things that I was so looking forward to doing that blew up in my face. If I went, I dissapointed a whole bunch of people. If I didn't go, I would have dissapointed someone who had been so helpful to me, plus we had been looking forward to our little trip for a week. So I chose, thinking that I probably can still amke it back in time. All I wanted was to unwind, and I ended up feeling miserable instead. It was such a mess, I woke up today with puffy eyes and and a monstrous headache. Needless to say, CCRB went to hell, and good thing the OPT has another workshop coming up.
Maybe I'm not meant to try and be an overacheiver. Maybe I'm not meant to have good grades, have a job, be involves in extra curriculars, be active in a sorority, try to get an internship, apply for grad school and still have a normal social life all at once. Maybe I should do what I always do every other semester: go to school, go home, sit around and hope good things come my way. That didn't work, and now my excellent plan of grabbing life by the balls (because we know Life is a man, anyway) isn't going that great either. So what is a girl to do?

Assalamu'alaikum...
I had an exceptionally long day today. Work started at 9 in the morning, and to make matters worse, I didn't get much sleep the night before due to excessive worry about programming, exams and how I'm gonna fit everything in my time schedule. Needless to say, I didn't fall asleep until around close to 5 a.m. Work consisted of learning how to use listserve and how to maintain the Pierpont Commons website. I was half asleep through most of the time, thank goodness my boss didn't notice. By the time she talked about Stress Busters and asked us to look for stuff to put in the kit, I was past the point of listening.
So I finished work at 11.30, went straight to ME 240 class (managed to keep myself fresh and alert) , then had lunch (still managed to keep awake AND eat a lot of food) , went to EECS 492 discussion (Thom was really boring) , and then had a meeting with Kristen, during which I could barely keep my eyes open. I went back home, finally managed to get some sleep.... only to be waken at 6.30 to go to Target with Abigail. I dragged my butt out of bed (I've been planning this Target trip since Monday, that was how much I was looking forward to the stuff I wanna get), put some clothes on, plunked my paperboy cap on my head and was ready to go. We went to Target, and that was basically the high point of my day. The TV I wanted was out, but I pestered people and they gave me a "raincheck" (it's a receipt you get so that the next time the item comes in, you can get it for the discounted price) for the TV and the DVD player I wanted. However, what kind of pissed me off was that it took them a half hour to tell me that they were out of the DVD player. I was out of my mind tired by then. Abigail looked around for her stuff (she has a project thing to do for her internship) and I basically looked around for stuff that I can use for work. We're surveying things for the Stress Busters program, and so far it's been going good, but we only have the toys up, none of the academic things up yet.
Basically we left Target when it closes, and Abigail was happy with the stuff she got for work, and I was happy because hope is not lost for my TV (trust me, if I want something, I will employ every given method to make it happen. The sale ends tomorrow, but at least I have my raincheck). And here's the good part: we got lost. Like waaaaay lost. We were circling around roads I have never even seen during my three years here. Needless to say, I was freaking out AND I was sleepy. And Abigail was getting a headache too, though we made stupid, mundane jokes about assholes who shouldn't drive too keep our mind off the fact we had no idea where we were.
Luckily, all went well. We were only an hour lost, but now I know where Maly's is. I got back, got yelled at, and now I'm gonna go to sleep, because tomorrow I have the workshop to go to and the CCRB before that, and Sunday is social for the associates and then chapter at 6 (if you don't understand what it means, it's no big, just ignore) , and I'm writing crap now anyway, so ciao and zzzzzz........

Assalamu'alaikum....
Warghh!!! School has only started for a few days and already I'm doing major screw-ups. Like flunking my ME 240 exam. And accidentally coming to chapter an hour early (not exactly screw up there, but I'm still pissed). And missing class today because I slept late last night and my alarm clock chose THIS DAY to die on me. Now I have to go on a scavenger hunt for notes, which is a pain in the ass to do. To top it off, I have dance class today, a meeting right after and TONS of homework to do, when all I really wanna do is just go home and sleep. *sigh* . Life as an undergraduate.
And right now, I can't even check my Umich email because the server is down. I mean, wtf?? How can it be down at 4.20 in the afternoon? And I'm nervous because I'm still short of one interview for my sorority membership education.
Ooohhh... here's some nice news :). I'm finally inducted into Phi Sigma Rho. Yay! After induction, I went to the MU for a spot of studying, and Alisa managed to stuck something down induction gift, nguahaha.. Apelah Alisa. Thankfully, it's out now.
Activities this week: Practice for sisters' show, get another interview with an active, learn the Greek alphabets (wha..?), and call home before mom and dad go to Cairo for their fifth honeymoon (I think, or is it more than that? They've been around the globe so much without their "lovely" kids that I can't keep track anymore). Apply for the engineering study abroad program (pleaseeeeee let me get to Grenoble. It'd be so kick ass! )
And after this lame ass excuse of an update, I have to get going to class, so ciao!
Wassalam....

Assalamu'alaikum....
Top story for tonite will be written in caps lock, thank you very much, so here goes:
1. SAPE AMEK HAIRDRYER AKU, SILE LAH PULANGKAN BALIK, TIME KACIH.... (takde dalam bilik, dah dig in laundry pun tak jumpe)
2. ANYBODY WANNA BUY A RETRO STYLED WOOD PANELLING "FLAT SCREEN (haha) " 21 INCH MAGNAVOX TV FOR UNDER 30 BUCKS CAN MESSAGE/EMAIL/CALL/SMOKE SIGNAL ME AT ANYTIME OF THE DAY (DO NOT CALL WHEN I'M SLEEPING, THOUGH). U PICK UP ONLY, NO DELIVERY SERVICE PROVIDED.
3. GIRLS, SAPE NAK MAKE-UP EXTRA AKU, MEH DATANG AMEK. ADELAH A FEW BAGS.....
Okay, finished with those nonsense.
I can't believe spring break is over. Like seriously, I cannot believe that my life is going to fast forward to hell again. Aaccccckkk!!! Me nervous.Well, at least my sorority stuff are finished, so that's one load off my mind. Now I only have to study for the quiz, but backtrack a bit, to a time when homework was just a distance memory and books were used as a foot stool.....
Illinois was heaven. It consister of days of shopping, nights out bowling and DDR, helping Sheila cook, and of course, Evanescence in concert!!!! Aaaacckkk!!! (drool) the concert was excellent!! So, so cool! Evanescence rocks! They had two opening acts, Atomship and Default. Atomship didn't impress me much, in fact I fell asleep during their number (pretty amazing since everything was blasting through my eardrums, that's how "unimpressed" I was), but Default was excellent. Totally rocks. Love them.
When Evanescence came onstage, everything was electric. I couldn't keep my butt on the seat (partly because the mamat in front of me was tall AND he was standing). I loved it! Seriously, I wish I had floor tickets so that I could squeeze myself closer to the stage.
After the concert, Elly, Ella, Hakam and I went to the dining hall to grab us some food. Met up with maestro of funny videos, incik Omar. I watched the clips he did with his friends (Sheila showed it to me), everything was damn funny. Hehehe.. I was gonna put the link in my website, but I can't remember what the link is... whoops... don't fret, it'll come back to me.
One of my best memories in Illinois is the night Sheila, Tet and I went out. We went to eat at Evo, where I had salted fish and chicken fried rice (nyam nyam) and jasmine milk tea that tasted like I was drinking a glass of talcum powder. the smell was so sweet, it made me gagged. After that, we went bowling. Hahaha.. I didn't do pretty badly, considering that I'm a novice. After that, I played a round of DDR, then it was off to my favorite cafe in the world, Moonstruck. Bliss sgt sgt sgt. The hot chocolate was to die for. Love it. Much love to Tet sebab belanje, and Sheila for being wacko (ngehehe.. kidding laling )
Then there was the shopping trips with Sheila and Eric, and another one with Elly, Bashir and Fifi. Got myself a pretty earring holder, and a beautiful bracelet holder. Oh, and a stripped pink and white shirt which goes well with the assortment of bracelets I bought from Claire's.
Then there was Ann Arbor. There was that day of groceries shopping, tolong Dee masak nasik ayam, then melantak nasik ayam, then the attempt to watch a horror-comedy movie at Ayun's.
And there's today, where I am currently at the library chatting my brains out with my cousin and friends. Perfect waste of library time. I was supposed to meet Heather here for an active's interview, but I guess she didn't get my email. So I printed some stuff, chatted a little (cloud 9 ), basically screwed up my study night. Figures.
Anyway, I have to go now, because the library is closing in 15. Ciao!

Assalamu'alaikum and hullo :) ....
As I'm writing right now, I'm in Elly's room in Illinois, kicking back after an extremely hectic half semester. I'm just sooo happy right now, especially since I started off Spring Break on kinda the right foot. On Thursday night, I went to Joe's Crabshack for Jennifer's birthday celebration. It was definitely intersting, as I got to see Jen run around the restaurant wearing a coconut bikini, goofy red glasses and a hula... and she was riding a fake horse a la "kuda kepang". And I had crab. Man, the food was good. I had a couple of misses with the food the first two times I went there, but as they say, third time's the charm.
On Friday night, after packing for my Illinois trip, me and the rest of the girls went to Bubble Island for drinks and games. We played three rounds of Taboo, had a blast, then went off to Pinball Pete's, located next door to Bubble Island. Here's where I start losing a whole lotta money. We played this dance floor game thingy that I, for the life of me, can't remember what it's called. Kirah power sial! Then there was the rounds of Daytona, House of The Dead, and other stuff that I can't recall. But anyway, we were kinda flexing our shooting skills for the lazer tag planned the next day. We stayed at the arcade until about 1 a.m, then went back to Alisa's room to continue the festivities. Needless to say, I went to sleep at 5.30 in the morning.....
And woke up at 10.45 a.m. I almost hit the roof. I was supposed to be at the parking lot 15 minutes before that, Cue the opening of windows and yelling "Kirah!! Aku baru bangun!!! Jap Jap!!" (Kirah was my driver) and running around my room putting on clothes and wearing my tudung. By 10.48, I was heading downstairs towards the parking lot, cursing loudly to myself for being such an ass and waking up late. That was the fastest ever I put on clothes on meself. Amazing what being late can do for you.
But anyway, once we got to the whatcha-call-it place, it was so, so much fun. That was the most fun I've had running around with a fake gun in my hands. It was great. BUT... cue the gripe.... if you're not fluent in Malay,or in no mood to hear me gripe, then disregard the next paragraph.
Aku benci, benci, benci when people tell me, in no uncertain terms, what to do. I mean, please lah, orang yang boleh suruh aku buat pape would be mak bapak aku aje and only them. Abang-abang aku pun kene bolayan kalau mengade nak mengarah-arah orang buat ape-ape. I just wanna go there, shoot the crap out of people, and have fun. Susah sgt ke? Susah sgt ke nak bagi aku have fun without breathing down my neck macam tuh? Aku tak mintak pun, langsung tak mintak pun, for you to bagitau what I can and cannot do. And for you to have the gall to datang to me afterwards and make me feel incompetent and pissed off sebab I was off alone and basically leaving the "team" unattended is just crossing the line bro. What the hell?? What the f***in' hell? Piss off lah man, I was this close to just walking away and tak layan kau tau. What the hell??? Geram geram geram geram geram .... First you made me miss my friends, then you make me wish they can haunt you and make you as miserable as you made me. Tolong lah! It was just a game! Bukannye nak bomb Iraq ke White House, and aku bukan pompuan Taliban yang membabi bute nak ikut cakap laki macam tuh. You make me want to claw my eyes so I won't see you, break my arms so I have an excuse to get away from you, chop off my ears so I won't have to hear you, break my legs so I won't have to go anywhere near you. Other than sharing oxygen, that's all I wanna have to do with you. Mess with me, tuh lain cerite. Mess about my friends, and you're dead to me. Never again, man. Nak tau apsal aku tulis kat sini? Because I'll never, ever forgive you for all your crap. Ever. Is it cold? Maybe. But aku dah janji dah lame dulu that I will never again let a guy make me miserable, and aku tanak start now. So piss off , wanker, and go to hell.
*phew*.... okay, that was some steam I just let off. Biarlah orang nak pikir ape, or kalau orang lain tau ke tak sape yang dimaksudkan, but if you think I'm making a big deal out of nothing, the "nothing" larut for 3 semesters. Girl needs to let off steam sometime, right? Muahahaha... I can honestly say right now that the above paragraph is NOT about any undergrads currently attending the University of Michigan. So there.

Assalamu'alaikum...
I was updating my Snapfish and Wal-Mart album (ordered a few prints and stuff), when I saw my pics with arwah Teh and Nanim. Suddenly I was overwhelmed by this strong feeling of sadness. Not a day passes by that I don't think of them, and everytime I do, I miss them more and more. I mean, you can fill your life with so many things, be involve in so many stuff, make it so that not one second in a day is your own anymore..... but at the end of the day, if you're truly honest with yourself, there's just a void inside you that no one can fill. To miss them the way I do is just a pain that stabs me every day. I mean, I can't very well talk to anyone about this, it's been over so long, and in a way, I've moved on with my life. But a part of me is still there, in that moment in time on Nov 9th, 2003.... the first time that I felt that void that has been haunting me ever since.
Is my blog too public for me to write something as private as this? Maybe. But I'm feeling too fucked up and robbed of any sanity that I don't really give a shit who reads this....

Assalamu'alaikum....
See? Juicy stuff always comes up whenever I call home. Apparently my house just adopted a new kitten. She has white fur and blue eyes, and my nephew adores her. Though that's open to interpretation. My nephew adored our last cat and he dragged the poor thing around using his walker and basically bullied Whiskas to death (not literally, of course). And both of my parents are heading of to Cairo next week for 7 days of fun... by themselves. How romantic. mostly it's going to be on a cruise, so I told my mom to go see our doctor and get some sea-sick pills. I'm so jealous. I wanna go too! No wonder we're not moving to a new house. Well, they deserve it, my mom and dad are the very best. Plus we're getting a new car. I can't remember what type, but it's gonna be a Proton because my brother was the one who picked it out (the ever diligent government officer now has an affinity for everything "local" ). Maybe we got a discount, because I can't imagine why he would want a Proton anything in the first place. Me and my second bro are real snobs... heheheh .... if we can get away with it, we always go for the stuff that has no "cap Malaysia" on it. My dream car (for the time being) happens to be a Hyundai Coupe exactly like my cousin's. I used to drool over this red Alfa Romeo when I was in high school, though that one's waaaaaay out of range. I can't remember what my brother was into, but I'm sure it was really expensive, nguahaha...
Next item on the list: apparently my "extended family" (if you can call it that) manages to make up stories about my currently non-existing love life (?). My mom's ex-boyfriend married off his daughter, and invited my mom's sister to the wedding (they're cousins.... which means he's my mom's cousin too... how "fun"). Apparently he found out that I'm friends with his nephew (we're the same age) and he's all excited about it. Cue the eeeeyeeewwww sound I mad into the phone. First of all, we are so not an item, just friends, and we haven't seen each other in three years. Second of all, what is it to him that we're friends? It's not his son. My aunt reported this to my mom (my mom wasn't invited to the wedding... doh... though the guy told my grandma's nurse that he did invite mommy... it's all complicated), and my aunt even said (according to my mom) "tak dapat mak nye, anak die pun boleh". Made me laugh like a hyena into the phone. My mom said "Kalau boleh, cariklah orang lain, Farah" (try and find someone else). So I teased her "Kalau tak jumpe orang lain, camane? Kite tak cantik macam mak.. mak tunggu kat bas stop, ade org ikut sampai ke rumah, Farah tunggu kat bas stop, bas pun tanak berenti" (basically I made a joke about not finding someone). My mom laughed into the phone... but still told me to find someone else. Hahahaha... we'll see, mummy :)... So far she hasn't approved of one single guy I've been with, or the ones I liked either. I so do not want to die an old maid, these hips are made for bearing kids (what other explaination for my humongous butt? hahaha), hehehe... I love babies. I'm picky enough for me, put my whole family in the equation.... potent combination that would result in either me getting the catch of the century.... or none at all. Oh well, que sera sera...
Okay, it's almost 2 a.m, I need to go pray, get my laundry and go to Ijat's room to help with stuff. So I'll catch you guys later. Ta!

Tiring week, can't believe it's not over yet. Anyway, glad it's Saturday, anyway. We'll be having our Singaporean -Malaysian Cultural Show THIS Friday at 7 pm. Which means I'll have to leave work a little bit early. Hopefully Katherine won't mind. Right now I'm a little bit in over my head with work, practice, homework and midterms, not to mention sorority pledging, though I'm rethinking the whole thing. But we'll see.
I wanna write, but right now nothing comes to mind. Think I have writer's block. Huh. Imagine that. Oh well... I'll try again later after talking to my mom. Layter peeps!

Assalamu'alaikum....
Shitty, shitty, shitty....... I woke up late for class today, crap. I hate this. I don't get to rest during the day, and now even my nights aren't my own anymore. I don't fall asleep easy, unless I'm very tired, so it usually takes me around an hour and a half of tossing and turning before I finally fall asleep again. I would appreciate it if people would leave me and my nights alone. So unless it's a life and death situation, do not call me after 1 am. Last night I had 3 phone calls, one at 1 am, one at around 2 (cuz, I love you, but that was wack timing) , and the last one at 3 am, and that was the last straw. I work hard during the day, so please, just let me sleep.

Assalamu'alaikum and hi....
Sorry I haven't been updating my blog, I've been trying to get things on track right now after the Sunday's "The Ramayana" performance. The performance went well, extremely good, I think. And the best thing was, I didn't even feel nervous on stage. That is so weird. I mean, even when I was just singing half of a song during the Eid Umimsa celebration I was kinda shaking, and I was so scared of screwing up. But on Sunday, I felt... nothing. No nervousness. I mean, I was really excited, and I know a lot of people are there, but I didn't get cold feet, I didn't feel scared. In fact, it felt like the most natural thing ever. Huh. Imagine that. Maybe there was something good that came out of being too tired and numb to feel too many emotions at once.
Monday was blah. So was today, but even more worse. The good thing was that I started my new job, which means I've taken the first step to earning a non-dining hall related paycheck. Yay! There wasn't much to do today, basically "makan gaji bute aje". I came, got the full tour of Pierpont Commons, read a few files, sorted out a few magazines, then went home.
Right now I'm feeling really, really, REALLY tired, effects from Sunday's performance and me going insane trying to catch up on homework and stuff. Me tired, school stupid. Nuff said.
Oh, and I'll be updating my pictures soon, so wait for it, okay :) ? Bye!

Assalamu'alaikum and hi:,
I cannot believe that I actually survived this week. But I did! And I survived not only with my sanity intact, but I was actually on top of everything, had all of my homework done, went to office hours, and I was able to even help other people. Yay! Alhamdulillah sgt2.... It's been a way, way, way hectic week for me, not one day did I come home without feeling extremely hungry, tired, and ready to collapse, but still having to push on because I have something due the next day or the day after. But the week is almost over, and I'm still sane. Thank goodness.
Now all I have to look forward to is the Ramayana performance on Sunday, in which Deera, Wann and I are gonna be in ("The Ramayana: Gongs of Truth", Hill Auditorium, Sunday Feb 1st 2004, 4pm). I have the poster of the event mounted on my door, hehe, after it's over, I'm gonna have it in my room as sort of a keepsake of my first performance ever in the US. In a way, I can't wait, because we practiced like hell for this, but I'm just so, so nervous, especially since Mas Wasi keeps changing stuff on the last minute. I know that's how creative people work (yeah, I've been in other stuff where same thing happens), but it makes me really nervous to have to memorize new things every day. My head are just filled with dance steps these last few days, what with this event and the cultural show later on. I'll be so glad after Sunday is over, at least one thing will be settled.
Here's more good news: I've been given a bid by Phi Sigma Rho. Meaning I've been invited to join the sorority (it's a social sorority for girls in engineering). Yay! I went to the pledge meetings, and it was so much fun, so I'm so thinking about saying yes. It's so exciting, Tammy came to my room on Wednesday to give me a balloon with "Congratulations!" written on it and an invitation card to dinner on Friday. Which brings me to my next story...
Being the floopy-head I am, I mistakenly though the dinner was today. So I was kinda in a pickle because I had dance practice at 5.30 (or so I though)and office hours I had to go to. As it is, things worked out kinda okay, due to my mistakes. I decided that I wanna skip the first part of practice today and come later. So after my Tech Com class finished at 5.30pm, I went to eat sushi at Mujo, opened my computer assignment and realized, dang, there's a mistake and I have to go to office hours. So I rushed to GG Brown, went to see the GSI, asked my comp question, then waited to ask another hw question, couldn't get to him through the throng of students, so I left at around 6.40pm. By then I though I was dead meat because the dinner, I remembered, was at 6.30 pm. I rushed to Lurie, tried opening the doors, which I couldn't, and I felt kinda funny. So I fished around my backpack for my invitation, saw the date on it, and wondered why did I pick today out of all days to be a perfect idiot. But anyway, I rushed to the music school, hoping to salvage whatever time I have for practice (remember, I thought practice was at 5.30pm, and it was close to 7 at that time). I went to the gamelan room, met up with Amrita, asked her "What time is practice today, am I really late?", and she said "Practice is at 7, no, you're not late at all, just in time". Phew. Two wrongs do not make a right, but in this case, the logical double-negation rule applies. Haha... Good thing I went to practice too, Mas Wasi changed a few steps.
Tomorrow I only have one class, then it's music school at 6, acceptance dinner at 6.30pm, whatever practice I can get after that again at music school, and cultural show rehearsal at 8 in Pierpont.
Life is full, life is busy, life is good :). Almost makes me happy that my love life is non-existant, haha. But that's another story altogether, heheh....:) ...

Assalamu'alaikum...
Finally, I have time to jot down something. My first EECS 370 is officially finished, yay! Thank you thank you thank you so much to Ijat for helping me out, siap bangun pagi hari Sabtu. So now all I have to do is to keep on top of my other homeworks and I should be okay. Right now I'm taking a break from my AI textbook that I've been reading for the past half hour. I like the subject a lot, but it's kinda heavy that if I don't stop reading for a bit, I'll never be able to absorb everything, heheh. But seriously, after the project is done, it's like this big weight had been lifted straight off my shoulders. *Sigh*... sometimes I wonder why did I pick this line of work. But if I am to be perfectly honest, a lot of the times, I like the rush, the adrenaline rushing through you as you try to have your program up and running and meeting the deadline. The downside: not much time for the other things that I like to do. And I haven't really hung out with my friends for about three weeks now. *Sigh*.
Today, we're going to get our dance costumes for Sunday's performance. I've gained pounds in the last semester which I haven't shaken off yet (and I do mean shaken, heheh) , so I hope everything fits. And I finally told mom that I would be dancing.... in front of people. She took it pretty well and promptly went on a new subject: my aunt's constant bragging about her kids. Puh-leeeeze. Macam anak die sorang je yang pandai, yang cantik, yang terrer. Macam anak die sorang je yang bagus. Sometimes I wonder if my aunt only calls my mom only when she has something new to brag about. I'm so glad that my mom is MY mom.
Anyway, mummy dearest wanted to make me new clothes and ship them to me. Yay! I'm getting neeeeeeeewwww stuff..... neeeeeeewwww clothes, hahahahah,.. me happy, why? Because the cloth that she's going to use happens to be my birthday present from my second bro. So it's like my late late late birthday present. Ahaks! Can't wait.
Anyway, today as I was going back to my room, I noticed that the snowman that some of the freshmen built last weekend had suddenly turned into snow-women. Apparently it now has two pairs of boobies. Two pairs. Yep. So you can basically tell if it was made by guys or gals. Definitely the embodiment of the ultimate sex toy slash baby-feeding machine. And just now, on the bus, I saw this guy talking to a girl, except he wasn't really talking to her rather than talking to her chest. I don't care if the male preoccupation with boobs has something to do with some deep-rooted childhood mommy issues, but to degrade a woman and reduce her to just a pair of breasts is so not cool.
Okay, back to my AI boobs.. I mean books. Heheh. I'll be ranting again soon......

Assalamu'alaikum....
Just put in a new song, sung by Baby Bash. First time I heard this was on The Sharon Osbourne Show, and I instantly fell for it. Heheh.... hope you'll like this like I do :) .
To two of my girls who are hitting some rough waves in their lives right now, be strong okay? It'll all come to light.

Assalamu'alaikum..
It's 8.15 in the mornig.... too damn early to do anything, and yet I am up. I have a class in an hour, and by right I can still be asleep and wake up just half an hour before that (the class is really near), but I couldn't go back to sleep after Subuh prayers, and since I'm anticipating a waaaaaaaaaay hectic day ahead, I'm just taking this oppurtunity to sit back and "lepak" for a while and just gather my thoughts.
So last night, I decided to drop all of my dance classes this semester. I mean, there's only 2, but one I have to drop because it's way too early, and for my Javanese Dance class, I dropped that one just to be on the safe side. I mean, I don't need the credit, I already have 13 (12 is the minimum). Plus I realize this week, and the next, is just giving me kinda a basic outline of how my semester will progress..... hectic, with barely enough time to take care of myself. I have to admit, I'm vain enough such that I refuse to give up my Umove classes at the CCRB, plus by February I'll be starting my new job at Pierpont, and with this new "club" I'm entering (which shall be explained later), I'll barely have time to do anything. Granted, a dance class is major easy A, you don't even have to come every single practice, but I feel like I'm taking on too many new things at the same time. I wanna be good at everything that I do, and that requires commitment for each and every single thing. So I dropped the class. I mean, I can always pick it up later, like next fall, or if I do decide to take it this semester (new classes only starts in mid February), I can have Mas Wasi sign a consent for, deliver it to the office, and I can still be in. Admittedly, I'll be so jealous of those taking the advance class this semester, because looking at what the advance class did last semester, the dances are so pretty and soft... and difficult. But I guess I have to swallow that and just hope they still offer it next fall.
It's almost 8.30, and I need to go take a bath, get breakfast, and get ready for class. Toodles!

Assalamu'alaikum...
Aha.... so today was a little bit productive. Did my laundry, practiced dancing, and finished my EECs 492 homework, which is a good thing considering I have to go and return the textbook tomorrow. Oh well... what can we do. Now I'm all worried about the EECS 370 homework and program, as well as the second ME 240 homework. I have a very, very.... old professor for ME 240. And something must be very wrong with the zippers on every pants that he has, because his hands keep straying "there". And he likes to make these very dry, wry and makes-you-wanna-die jokes. Very interesting man. Very old too.
My first ME 240 homework was done with the unwavering help of the ME 240 GSI (graduate student instructor, for those of you not in the know). He's the second GSI that I've had a crush on since I came to Michigan. No, he's not exactly my type kinda cute (like Andy was), but he was such a good teacher, and he was so attentive about explaining stuff and making sure we lowly undergrads understand everything, that I instantly took a big liking to him. It's GSIs like him and Andy that makes me want to get that elusive A for a course even more. Heheh....
Okay, it's late, I have an early day tomorrow, so better get to sleep. Tata peeps and wassalam.....

Assalamu'alaikum.....
Long, long, LONG week..... and I have to say, I probably won't have time to pen in something again until the end of this month. First up is my EECS370 program due next week, then the Javanese Dance performance on February 1st, next is the Cultural Show on Feb 13th, then it's off to my new job at Pierpont. So you can see how my time is organized right now (i.e not orgranized). Everything's so packed. I'm so screwed.
Shit, I forgot another practice I have to go to. I'll catch u guys later, bye!

Assalamu'alaikum...
Ahahaha.... me happy, vewy, vewy happy. I got the job as a program director at Pierpont Commons. Yippee!!! And I start in February, after my dance performance. Yippee again!!! I can't believe I'm gonna get paid doing something that I actually like : performance arts (i.e singing, dancing, acting etc. ). At least something good is happening in my life right now.
Found out some disturbing facts last night, such as an email that I never received, which is a good thing because if I did get it, my head would have probably exploded. Ahaks! Oh well, things have a way of working out in the end. Oh, and I also found out that i can actually hold a mean grudge on certain people, but if the person matters a lot to me, I can be a big softie too. Huh. Imagine that.
Anyway, I spent 2 hours at the gym yesterday... learning Latin Grooves. Hahaha.... don't ask, it's just something else that is contributing to my "diversity" experience. I mean, I do not want to go back to Malaysia without having done certain "bizarre" things that you don't get a chance to eperience back home unless your're very rich. But seriously, this is gonna be one hectic semester for me. Oh well, at least it'll keep me busy from remembering other stuff (oh, other stuff, why do you plague me so? ). After sweating like crazy, I got back home, took a shower, had dinner with Wann, Nick and Nik, then spent the rest of the night settling some stuff and gabbing on the phone. Very mature of me.
As usual, I was late for my 9.30 class this morning, but by only 10 minutes (hahah), so that's something. I was then half asleep in my Artificial Intelligence class. Why am I taking AI? Because it would look damn impresive in my resume. Heheh... have to think ahead. After that I went to print out some stuff and bumped into Unmesh. We caught up on stuff and gossiped like a pair of schoolgirls, it was fun. But the weird thing is, whenever we talked about someone, suddenly that person would materialize in front of us. I was freaked out, but Unmesh ws laughing like crazy (they were his friends, anyway). Seriously it was like straight out of a Twilight Zone episode. Anyway, we made plans to go out to the movies and hang. Anybody in Michigan wanna come with?
At 1.30 pm, I had my EECS 370 discussion, and after that, I met bumped into Jessica, who then proceeded to tell me about this engineering sorority that she wants to join. She wants me to come with, but I'm not sure yet. Me, sorority girl? I can already hear the laughter and the sound of splitting sides from my friends. Hahaha.. but we'll see. Maybe rushing would be fun, God knows I need fun right now.
Okay, rant and rave time: I hate that as far as females have acheived today, we're still being judged unfairly. I hate that some people still judge me by my looks, or the guy I'm with, or my social standing. Worse of all, I hate that all of their collective negative energy afftects me, making me feel like I'm less than what I am. I'm a good person, I'm smart enough to know my elbow from my butt, and I care about people. Why is that not enough? Stupid, stupid people....
There, I'm fine now (grrr.... ). I better get going, dance class in half an hour. So I'm gonna make like a banana and split.... ciao!

Assalamu'alaikum....
Wow... 3 entries in one day, amazing, ain't it, hehehe. Anyway, I spent the day in my room today, partly because Dennis was here to install my new hard drive (Western Digital 160GB) and install some new stuff for me. But unfortunately my old files got lost in the process, so right now I'm bugging a few people for my digital pictures and songs.
So right now I finally have my hard drive, installed XP Professional, have my wireless keyboard and mouse to play with (so much fun), and best of all, I have Unreal Tournament in my comp. I know what you're thinking (at least you PC gamers): What?? She plays Unreal Tournament? Hahaha... yes I do, though I've never teamed up with anybody, always me and the computer. I'm not that good with console games, like PS2 or Game Cube, but my brothers are big PC gamers, and some of their collective enthusiasm rubbed off on me. Needless to say, I get an absurdly intense pleasure of blowing people up to smithereens and seeing blood all over the screen.
Dennis was nice enough to leave me with The Sims, Sims Livin' Large and Sims House party, too. I'm a big, big, BIG fan of all Sims game. I spent hours on The Sims and Sims City back home, though I hated the golf course thingy they had a while back. That was kinda boring. And Dennis also introduced me to Theme Hospital, which I have yet to try. *Sigh*.... having a big hard drive is heaven, hahah... though having only 128MB of memory sucks big time.
Like I said, sucky things happen at the beginning of the semester, it can only get better from here, hehehe. You lose some, you gain some. I lost something pretty important to me this week, and I know I don't have a chance of getting it back, but hopefully something better will come along. After all, this is me we're talking about. I've been through shit a lot worse than this, I'll bounce back. Always have, always will :) .
Darn, I miss my playlist, no songs in my comp equals silence...... or me singing, which can wither be a good thing or a bad thing.

2 days and counting..... have you ever felt like a fool? I would like to think that nobody knows about this, which is true on my part, but you never know... I've been trying to connect to mirc and download some songs, but to no avail. So I listened to the one I have in my playlist right now, and I found this old tune by Sinead O'Connor. *sigh*... so in the mood for sappy songs right now, though this one has nothing to do with my life be it in the past or the current situation....
Kay, your ex-gf was an ass, you're better off without (heheh, don't let her read this). Miss talking to you too :).
Nothing Compares To You by Sinead O'Connor
It's been seven hours and fifteen days
Since you took your love away
I go out every night and sleep all day
Since you took your love away
Since you been gone I can do whatever I want
I can see whomever I choose
I can eat my dinner in a fancy restaurant
But nothing
I said nothing can take away these blues
`Cause nothing compares
Nothing compares to you
It's been so lonely without you here
Like a bird without a song
Nothing can stop these lonely tears from falling
Tell me baby where did I go wrong
I could put my arms around every boy I see
But they'd only remind me of you
I went to the doctor n'guess what he told me
Guess what he told me
He said girl u better try to have fun
No matter what you do
But he's a fool
`Cause nothing compares
Nothing compares to you
all the flowers that you planted, mama
In the back yard
All died when you went away
I know that living with you baby was sometimes hard
But I'm willing to give it another try
Nothing compares
Nothing compares to you
Nothing compares
Nothing compares to you
Nothing compares
Nothing compares to you

Assalamu'alaikum....
Omigod, I survived the first week of school... well, barely anyway. It was a weird, weird, weird week, with classes and other stuff happening in my life. Let's just not get into details. Suffice to say some happenings were surprisingly good, others were so bad that I don't think it can get any worse.
I didn't get much sleep yesterday, spent the night tossing and turning and waking up every few hours. I ended up giving up trying to sleep and just got up. Shitty, shitty feeling right now, I hate it so much. The good side of it? like I said, can't get any worse. Oh well, moving on....
I love this song so much, especially the "if hearts were unbreakable part".....
INVISIBLE by Clay Aiken
What are you doing tonight
I wish I could be a fly on your wall
Are you really alone
Still in your dreams
Why can't I bring you into my life
What would it take to make you see that I'm alive
[Chorus]
If I was invisible
Then I could just watch you in your room
If I was invisible
I'd make you mine tonight
If hearts were unbreakable
Then I can just tell you where I stand
I would be the smartest man
If I was invisible
(Wait..I already am)
I saw your face in the crowd
I called out your name
You don't hear a sound
I keep tracing your steps
Each move that you make
Wish I could be what goes through your mind
Wish you could touch me with the colors of your life
[Chorus]
If I was invisible
Then I could just watch you in your room
If I was invisible
I'd make you mine tonight
If hearts were unbreakable
Then I can just tell you where I stand
I would be the smartest man
If I was invisible
(Wait..I already am)
I reach out
But you don't even see me
Even when I'm screaming
Baby, you don't hear me
I am nothing without you
Just a shadow passing through...
[Repeat Chorus]

Assalamu'alaikum....
I had the best day 2 days ever.... why? Because KB and Sue were here!!! Ahaha... well, so were Zuhri (ahaks!) , adik KB (Aisha from Penn State ) , and they came with Anuar (betul ke eje name? ) and Zai. Okay, convert to Malay-English for a bit, sorry Jay Jay, ahaha...
Okay, so derang sampai petang Rabu, lepas kol 6 I think. Kesian drive jejauh, heheh. Lepas tuh, aktiviti makan. I cooked rendang, kuah lodeh, kuah kacang (tu instant), lemang and nasik impit (instant jugaaa ). Nasib baik masak, kesian derang lapaq. Lepas tuh, aktiviti paling menarik, hahah. Sue punye birthday was on January 1st (cool gile, ahah), she's FINALLY legal (though she's not gonna do anything with it, I know you pompuan, hahah ), so we were in a pickle sebab nak kene sneak out beli cake. Heheh... so tunggu punye tunggu, akhiynye Sue masuk bathroom pegi mandi. terus aku ngan KB pecut pakai baju, call Zuhri, pastu kitorang 3 org sekali ngan Wann, Zai ngan Anuar pegi Kroger. Tup-tup, stupid blardy Kroger tutup, nasib baik Meijer pujaan hati bukak, so beli ayaq and stuff kat situ. Lokasi beli kek dirahsiakan, muahahah (sebab tau Su suke bace blog aku, keskeskes ). Pastu baru teringat, buku cerite yang org belikan Sue tak tulis pape lagi kat dalam die (beli kat Waldenbooks, "The Last Jihad" by Tatau Sape ). Nasib baik ingat. Okkeh, fast forward, kitorang sampai balik Eaton, elok-elok 5 minutes before midnite, so masuk bilik, nyanyi lagu bedey, ragging-ragging Su sket, pastu soh Sue potong kek sebab takde lilin nak soh die tiup. Kang soh tiup lampu sampai padam kang, pengsan laks. Ngeheh... kitorang belikan Sue carrot cake ngan cheese cake, nyam nyam... ahaha... best gile ade 2 kek
Anyway, the next day, cuti-cuti Ann Arbor. Bawak diorang jalan keliling Central ngan North Campus. Seperti biase, kene bawak gie Law Quad ngan Michigan Union dulu, sebab paling cantik. Then it was all downhill from there, muahaha.. takdelah :). Ingat nak bawak shopping, tapi sume tempat tutup, so bawak diorang gie lunch kat Dinersty, then, gie South Campus carik Big House. Ooopsy, terbawak diorang masuk kancah kesesatan sekejap, as in tersesat carik Big House, terbawak gie Frat Drive over in Washtenaw (? nguahaha, reformed par-tay girl), pastu baru jumpe stadium. Keskeskes... seronok2 amek gambar dalam sejuk2 tuh. After that, North Campus, malangnye Media Union tutup, so beku lah derang amek gambar kat luar. Then balik, kluar malam sket makan kat Denny's, then it was girls nite all the way. Malam tuh lah amek oppurtunity borak2 ngan Sue and KB, catch up on stuff.... macam-macam tatau rupenye.... ( "Khairi dah ade gf" "Ha? Dah ade gf" "Tapi dah break up dah" "Hah? Dah break up dah?" )... bebudak nie pun satu, cerite dah basi berkulat baru nak cakap, hahaha . Tapi seronok lah, baru sedar yang miss diorang gile gile gile actuallynye, suddenly I miss life in PPP so badly.... Ekin, Dayang, korang pulak bile mau visit?
Pagi tadi, bawak diorang gie Steve and Barry's and Michigan Book and Supply, beli t-shirts and other stuff, the gie Dinersty balik (diorang fell for the Malaysia Style fried noodles... yum yummy, siap boleh tapau bawak balik Pudu ), after that, the hardest part of the day...... saying goodbye. Waaa... cedey cedey... I had so much fun while they were here, by far the best part of my holiday :) . Baru blah a few hours, dah miss dah.
Lepas-lepas tuh catch up tido and tgk TV.. ho hum. Can't believe school is starting next wekk, I'm gonna have to bust my ass in the javanese dance class for the performance, adoi lah. Okay, have to go and solat, ciao!
Wassalam...
