Assalamu'alaikum.....
Only 3 more weeks before I go back to Michigan, and I have to say, never have I wanted to not leave a place as much as I do Washington. It's been... quite a ride. The first time I really, really appreciate the "work hard, play hard" philosophy. During the weekdays, it's constant running to meetings and interviews. During the weekends, there's always something new to do.
A couple of weeks ago I went hiking up Mt. Rainier. We were supposed to go uop the easy trail but somehow managed to get our asses up the hard trail, which meant my butt was mostly touching the snow. Brrr.... it was a miserable hike but the view was totally worth it. Who would've known an indoor girl like me would enjoy the outdoors so much.
An then there was windsurfing last weekend in Portland, Oregon. The trip started off pretty crappy because Peter managed to get himself a $280 speeding ticket, but other than that, it was a lot of fun. I can now pretend to know how to windsurf. LoL. I had tonssss of fun, and I got to play in the sun AND in the water, which is always a plus. I was basically bruised all over when I got back home, but the glowing tan was so totally worth it.
Then there was the nightlife. Those in Michigan who've been out with me if only one time can attest to the fact the I loooove to dance. And I love clubs, and I think club hopping should be an Olympic sport. LoL. Seattle has been really good to me in that department. Never a dull moment. I can remember only one night that didn't started off so well, but it ended very well indeed. Ooohhh my lil' secret :) . But anyway, yeah, I think I've been making up a whole year of no dancing in 3 months pretty much. I have no idea how the heck I kept up the pace of no sleep during the weekdays AND the weekend, but I think sleeping all day Sunday helped, heheh.
Then there was Salsa Wednesdays. Yes, I am taking a salsa class. Somehow, there's more guys then there are girls, which of course works to my advantage. Those were fun, too. I get to spin around and dance with a bunch of different people and learn how to move on the dance floor..... did I meantion how much I love dancing? LoL.
Then there's all the Microsoft activities: BBQs, cruises, free lunch during informational meetings, training classes ..... omigosh, you are worked to bones, but the benefits are totally worth it. Best part: except for the first day, never have I had to put on ANYTHING formal to go to work. How cool is that. It's t-shirts, jeans and flip flops. Every. Single. Day. Bliss.
Why do I have to leave and go back to Michigan... :(
