Assalamu'alaikum...
Muahaha, there's only 2 people in the office right now, Merry and moi. As usual, the less people there are in the office, the more phone calls I have to answer. I'm getting better at it. It was kinda hard the first few times because you have the remember which buttons to press if you want to pick up any phone in the office, then what buttons to press to transfer each calls (it's unique for each person in the office), and then how to take messages because everyone in the office likes their messages taken differently. In a way, it's good that I have an easy job right now instead of being a research assistant or a consultant somewhere (Kate recommended me this consulting job at the School of Nursing), which would have meant I won't be able to go home for the summer, which would have sucked soooo bad.
I'm currently reading this book called "Reading Lolita in Tehran" by Azar Nafisi. Katharine, my boss during the fall and winter semesters, asked me to read it to get my point of view, being the only Muslim girl in the office, and from a progressive Islamic country at that.Katharine has a book club she belongs to, and none of the members are Muslims, so she thought it would be interesting to see what I think of it.
I've only started reading the book, so I can't comment yet, all I can say right now is I have some pretty mixed emotions about it...
Okay, I want to continue reading now, will pen in again in about an hour or so.
Wassalam...
Just the ramblings of a Malaysian girl who traded Kuala Lumpur for Seattle to be an independent working girl.
I'm moving my updates to a different blog, http://www.farah-faisal.blogspot.com, since it's an easier address to remember and spell. It's been a great ride updating this blog, hope you'll follow me on to the next chapter!

Assalamu'alaikum...
I'm at work again, just finished my EECS 484 exam. Verdict: ewwww! Something stinks! What was that? Oh, it's the smell of my grade on this subject! Haiyak!... Actually, I might not have done quite so bad, though, I think I knew more than in this exam than the last one.
I am currently at work, of course, but today, I brought something very, very special with me. My baby, the (current) love of my life, the reason why I smile everytime I go into my room.... my laptop! (What did you think, a guy? Yeah, right!) It arrived yesterday and I was so excited. Today I brought it along to the office to try out the whole wireless thing (plus apparently my room can't get any engineering sites, so all work must be done here, I need to remind myself to call ResComp about it). So now I'm downloading all the SSH stuff and the drives that I need to get into my AFS space.
I just realized that I didn't put my Snapfish link in, oops. I'll get it in, I promise :).
Okay, Im kinda sleepy right now, so I'm just gonna doze off while no one's in the office. Ciao!

Assalamu'alaikum...
Just realized my blog hasn't been working for a couple of days, stupid-o thingy... anyway it's up again now, another pink layout (if you expected anything else then you obviously don't know the pink-freak I am). I also put a link to my Snapfish account so you can see some (selected) photos. I actually haven't uploaded any new ones yet, so you might wanna skip that one.
Last Saturday I went shopping at Birchrun with the girls and Jun (which reminds me, thank you Jun for taking me to the hospital during my back pain thingy, I appreciate it so much, you're never gonna read this but what the heck, I'll write it anyway just on the off chance you might stumble here, thanks to Ayun and Dee too, much love). Went into Oh Kosh B'Gosh and Gap Kids and spent some serious cash there. Can't wait to get kids of my own, shopping for baby clothes is really.. er.. cute (wha..?). Seriously, baby dresses are adorable, the detailing is better than even the party tops that I wear back in "those days" (and that's saying something). Talking about shopping reminds me of my favorite time of the year....
VICTORIA'S SECRET SEMI-ANNUAL SALE!!!
One of the reasons why my "for private viewing only" drawer is filled to the rim with VS logo. And the perfume.... Heavenly is exactly that, heavenly. Anyway, this time I might have to shop for other people, because my girl friends in Malaysia have gotten bolder and asked for VS stuff (nak buat ape, I wonder... hehe.. tanduk tanduk). Oh well, tgk duit camane, duit gaji tak masuk lagik.
Last Thursday I got my brochure for the ParisTech, made me feel kinda sad that I'm not going. If things were just a little different (like if I didn't have a sucky year and be so emotionally drained and need to recuperate at home with my darling babies) I would definitely go to Paris and not go home (money constraint, can't do both), I mean going to school in another country should be an interesting experience. But I have to go back home, I just need to be home this year, this year sucks sooooo bad..
Boss is back, gotta go, bye!

Assalamu'alaikum...
Currently at work right now... I am so dead meat. Maybe I should start at the beginning...
So yeah, yesterday Nick, Kate and I worked on the program because it's due noon today. We started working from when I got off from work, which was around 3 o'clock. I was actually quite apprehensive because we still had some functions not working, and I wasn't sure until what time all of us were willing to work. As it is, we stayed in the Space Research lab until close to 2.30 in the morning (holy shit! That's almost 12 hours!), and Nick had already been there since 11 am (he works there).
I have to admit, that was probably the most fun I ever had in any group meeting in my life. Deadline was approaching, but all of us goofed off (usually at my expense, of course, LoL), so the atmosphere never got really tense. Kate and I took turns touching Nick's military haircut (fuzzy, feels like a carpet). Best of all, we had PIZZA!! ... from Pizza House, and 2 orders of breadsticks... yummy ... made a mess out of the lab, which Nick had to clean (LoL).
So after we finished our program, we went to Kinko's to bind our project report (at 2.30 in the morning), and I didn't go to sleep until 4 am. I've always been really careful about setting my alarm clock, especially yesterday when I know I have to get up at 8 to get to work at 9 am. So I woke up this morning, and my alarm clock said it was 7.30 in the morning, which isn't bad.... if it was actually 7.30 in the morning. I looked out to window, because it was pretty dark due to the rain clouds, and I caught a glimpse of my wristwatch. It was 10 am. 10!!! I jumped out of bed, dialed Sam's (my boss) phone number, and frantically apologized for not being there yet. Turns out, I got really lucky today, since Sam didn't even know I was supposed to be in until 11 am, so she said it was okay and I can just get there whenever. However, it wasn't Sam I was worried about....
But I'm here, in the office, and everybody else is in the staff meeting. Luckily, the phone is pretty quiet today, so I get to do this... updating my blog, which "some" people say they can't open anymore (sucks, doesn't it? LoL) since I updated the layout. Muahahaha (queue evil laugh)
Anyway, peeps, I need to get on reading my GRE handbook, so catch ya later!!

Assalamu'alaikum...
How long has it been since I last updated my blog? Freakin' long, I should think. Sorry, been really busy lately, with the new job and all. Lemme start off with WHEN I left off...
MIDWEST WEEKEND
Held at the University Of Minnesota, Twin Cities, my car (driven by Faridal and Fazari, with me, Eng Lee and Keju as passengers) arrived kinda early, 10pm Minny time. When I got there, who else was there to assault me but my favorite Gopher, Dias, who jumped on me like nobody's business and wrestled me to the ground. Luckily, no one had a video camera, so it didn't make into the Midwest Moments that organizers ALWAYS show at the Midwest dinner. Hahah.. Still, it was the first time I did a Hindustan moment in public (minus that mock video clip time when I had to run across the Diag holding a scarf with a Spanish song in the background, but that's a whole different story altogether...)
Okay, so we sent in a soccer team, an indoor soccer team, ping-pong individuals and probably something else that I can't remember. The result: we swept away all ping pong medals (yeaaaahhhh Wolverines!!!), won the silver medal in soccer, and won the bronze in indoor soccer (yours truly was goalie, heheh). Best of all, I had the honor of announcing soccer and indoor soccer winners in the prize-giving ceremony, It was awesome, I got to yell "Wolverines!" in front of people and I actually had a reason for doing it. My partner, Ikram, and I basically BS-ed everything on stage and I think I made a boo-boo when I said I only let one goal from Northwestern go through (it was actually 2, but 1 was technically not my fault, so I keep forgetting that one... oopis).
It's great seeing Dias again after 3 years, and Piejo.... if I only need one reason to go, it would be too see my girls :) . Pics coming soon, as soon as I get my computer fixed. Which brings me to my next thing.....
SONY VAIO V505EX
Saw it on a website, fell for it REALLY bad, calculated my budget, then bought it, currently waiting for it to arrive. Nuff said and drool.........
CLERK D POSITION
I work everyday except weekends, 22 hours per week, 7.75 bucks per hour. Money money money... Of course, I get really tired and would fall asleep at the desk, then again, my job basically consisted of answering phone calls, then sitting around waiting for a couple of hours until I could go home. Easy peasy.
EECS 484 PROJECTS
Currently working with Kate and Nick, which is cool because they are :) . Though I receive some pretty weird ideas from them, like "You should watch porn". Right, I gag when someone sent me a 5-second blowjob footage of a Britney look-alike, I would probably pass out from full on porn. Full on nudity is okay, but carnal acts... ermm... I'll pass on that :).
MY NIECE
Aishah Adlina.... I love you, and I can't wait to hold you and hug you and kiss you when I get back home, you sweet, sweet, precious lil' thing you..
MY BLOGGER
Journal has a new look. Surprisingly enough, I couldn't find a new picture where I was wearing a pink "tudung", so here's an old one that I'm sure you've seen countless times before (because it's in my Friendster, too), I need some new "pink" pics man...
Okay... enough of those.... I'm tired and a program is waiting for me to debug it, so ciao, take care and Assalamu'alaikum....

Assalamu'alaikum...
It's been ages since I've last updated this thing... and unfortunately, I don't have time to pen in anything right now. So I'm making it fast: Midwest 2004 Games this weekend. Indoor soccer. Staying with Dias, Kong and KB whom I've missed like crazy (Sue!!! I miss you the most scarecrow ). Haven't seen Dias in 3 fuckin' years. Expect no sleep from catching up. Project and hw to do, meeting with prof right now, just finished exam. Life, as I know it, officially sucks. Going back home in July, I hope, to see new baby (Aishah Adlina, 2 1/2 months old, has red face that scrunch up like a prune). I currently have a zit the size of New Mexico smack dab at the side of my nose. Why can't I just have mood swings and be a b**** like every other girl? Me no time to write more, hafta get to appointment. Ta!

Assalamu'alaikum and Hello!.......
Okay, I'm at work right now and everything is surprisingly slow. I was expecting the office to be flooded with activities since today is the second day of the Stress Buster program. Stress Buster is this program that me and a few other people had been working for the past few weeks. What we do was to design some arts and crafts activities for people to do while taking a break from studying for finals. Plus we're giving away Stress Kits that has coupons, a Blue Book and stress-busting toys in them.
Yesterday, the office started off the program over in Bursley Hall, where they had a booth that people can come over to pick up their Stress Kits and to decorate a flower pot and make their own flowers. When Katharine first came up with the idea, I couldn't imagine it, but on Tuesday I helped make a few samples for display and the pots and flowers were actually kinda cute. I felt like a little kid again. Unfortunately, I couldn't come to the real deal yesterday at Bursley because of a sorority spa night, which brings me to the second part of my oh-so-eventful life.
Yesterday was Phi Rho's spa night. We went to try out (and buy) new products from Mary Kay (that's the brand) and do some manicures and pedicures in the process. The real story isn't about the spa night itself, but about what happens before that.
So yesterday I had a teeny weeny craving for biryani rice, but looking at my current bank account statement, I can barely afford to go out and smell biryani at a restaurant, let alone buy one. So I, being the resourceful individual that I am, decided to cook, and since it's never fun to eat biryani rice alone, I decided to make 2, 3 batches of it so I can share around (it's always nice to share, isn't it?)
So at 5.10 pm, I had just finished putting the first batch into the rice cooker, and was heating up the gravy for the second batch, when Tina called and said "So yeah, meet me out front in 5 minutes to go to Melody's house" (Melody is the Mary Kay lady). So I turned off my stove (or so I thought), leave my rice cooker on "heat", and went out the door, not expecting that it would run up to 9.30 pm.
I was having fun at Melody's house, trying out new stuff and buying things, but in the back of my head, I was counting the minutes until we can go home so I don't leave whatever guests that I had already invited starving to death. We left at 8.45, making good time for me to arrive back home by 9, when suddenly everyone had a craving for Slurpees. So we stopped at 7 Eleven (I got a jumbo humongous Slurpee myself), and I ended up arriving home at 9.30 pm. I told Dee that the latest I was gonna be was 8.30. This is an hour later than that.
I walked through my door, smelled the biryani and felt kinda weird, it wasn't supposed to smell that strong. I looked into the pot and all of the gravy was gone! Holy shit! I looked at the stove, and realized I didn't completely turn it off, it was set on low, but after4 hours, things do tend to evaporate from the pot. Luckily enough, there was enough meat and veggie to salvage, but no gravy to make the seocnd batch.
The first one turned out okay (the color was really pretty, though it was a bit soft, but hey, I'll do better next time), so I had over the few people that I had originally invited, plus a few others that just happened to come across my path for that night (it was all according to luck kinda thing). Oh, i didn't sleep, too, until 7 am, I was too wired for some reason.
So that was my eventful day. I bought a body mist from Mary Kay called Embrace Harmony. The smell is so, so good. I always feel really protective of my perfume because it's really expensive (I love my VS Heavenly perfume, but it costs me an arm and a leg to buy one), so I don't wear it that much, but the body spray is only 18 bucks, and it smells really, really good. Love it! there's a story behind it, too, but we'll leave it for next time :) ....
GOOD LUCK FOR FINALS, WOLVERINES!!!!

EASTER WEEKEND!!!
Assalamu'alaikum...
Currently at work right now, feeling guilty because I was MIA on Tuesday. Yesterday's Tech Com 281 presentation sucks, aaaarrghhhhh!!!!! I hated it. I'm so not good as bullshitting about stuff in front of people, I need facts and lots of them, then I can present. But to tell me to "wing it" 5 minutes before presentation is guaranteed to make me wanna pee in my pants.
Talking about pants, I seriously need to go shopping and buy myself some fat pants. Not exercising for 3 months = extremely huge hips that won't fit into my jeans anymore. Dang it. I hate being a CS major nowadays because it means I have to concentrate on what I have to do instead of what I wanna do. This is probably why I was so hell bent on joining Phi Sigma Rho in the first place just to force myself not to sit in my room and worry about the never ending homework and studying.
I wonder, do any of my fellow female Wolverines feel like raiding Briarwood Mall or Arborland tomorrow afternoon? I feel like going out (and buying some fat pants or sweats) and just blow off some cash tomorrow…. maybe even go to that new Oxygen bar that had just opened. No, dummy, it’s not a real bar, it’s a place where you go and breathe specially formulated oxygen (weird eh?). It was all the rage in Hollywood, and now that it’s not quite so fabulous there anymore, of course it found it’s way to Ann Arbor.
I read in the paper the other day that Ann Arbor is the 6th least stressful town to live in. Uh-huh. Try going here and see how “un-stressful” our lives really are. Just because we don’t have honking cars all day or 24-hour bars or a strip club for every square mile, doesn’t mean Ann Arbor is sooooooo desirable to live in. Rents are high, everything’s expensive, eating out can cost you an arm and a leg and malls here are no taller than 2 stories high. Don’t get me wrong, I do Heart Ann Arbor (like the t-shirt), but it’s kinda ridiculous to name it 6th Most Desirable Town To Live In. Oh well…
Okay, I need to get back to work. Ciao! Trust me, I’ll pen in again in, oh, let’s say half an hour.

Oh well…

Assalamu'alaikum.....
No quotable quote for today, just a new layout :), and a new song. Actually it's an old one by Brad Kane and Lea Salonga. People can probably tell I haven't downloaded anything good since my computer got reformatted. Actually, I do have some new songs, but I want something Extremely Mellow for today... or this week, or this month, depending on the next time I updated my blog, heheh. But anyway, need to get ready for class! Ciao!

Assalamu'alaikum and hello :) ....
QUOTABLE QUOTE FOR THE DAY: ".... I'm going to put you in my to do list." ---> Jackass
Okay, so there's two parts to this entry. First one is my oh-so-eventful Friday night, and second is the Relay for Life event held at Palmer Filed yesterday.
FRIDAY NIGHT
Yeah, so me being an idiot who doesn't have time to study during the weekend because of the Relay, decided to blow my Friday night too by trying to find something else to do (e.g parties, dances, movies ...) and ended up dragging Elly with me. I had a couple of invites to stuff, and there was the Spring Gala that I was interested to go, so there was plenty of things to do (kinda, because they're all almost the same thing).
The Spring Gala was a bust because no one was there and we decided not to go . There was barely enough people to fill a table, let alone a ballroom. I attribute that to extremely poor publicity because other than the email, there was no flyers or posters or anything else that might attract normal engineers to it ( normal = The Dude isn't the only place outside his room that you can see him at ).
But we managed to find something to do ...... then headed off to Pinball Pete's for about a half hour of shooting people's heads off and getting chopped by crazy zombies.
RELAY FOR LIFE (BARU HABES SEMALAM)
Yeah, okay, so yesterday I went to my sorority retreat, which is the Relay For Life, held at Palmer Field. I arrived there with Tina and Carly at 2 pm, and we're supposed to stay there until 10 pm, because that's the mandatory shift. So the day started out all sunny and nice, there were a few girls sunning, and people were walking and jogging around the track and talking and basically having fun. I walked for 6 laps, then I saw the pizza at our place and swerved straight into it for lunch, hehehe. After that, it was a game of Euchre for me and a few girls, and some of the others played Red Rover (macam main galah panjang sikit-sikit). After that, some of us formed two teams to play soccer. Haha.. it was hillarious, I kept getting hit by the ball, and it kept coming straight at me, but my team lost by 1 anyway. It was great fun, though I was wheezing by the end of it because I haven't exercised in ages, and it was getting reaaaaaaalllllyyy cold. So by 5 o'clock it was getting windy, then sunny, then windy and stayed that way. At around 7 we built a tent, and by 7.30 it was pouring for the rest of the night.
After that I was downright miserable because of the cold (I had only my green hoodie, a pair of t-shirts and a track bottom) and it was beginning to SNOW! The weather was horrible, but we made the best of it by playing Never Have I Ever.... then say something you've never done. I always win, of course, because I never damn well did anything. The girls decided to chet by saying "Never have I ever lived in Malaysia" so I have to say I've done that. But it was good fun while it lasted, even if it was damn cold.
so 10 pm came, and I so wasn't looking forward to my shift at 2 am till 6 am, so I decided to go back home, take a bath, and then come back again. I took my bath, had dinner with Nik (Dinersty, as always), then bundled up for my shift.... only to find out that the rest of the Relay was cancelled due to "unsafe weather". Well, it was unsafe, people can get pneumonia last night. So I collapsed back into bed and slept until now.
I just wanna say thanks again to Adlee, Dayang, Kak Mel, Azwan , Nik and also my parents for donating money towards the relay. Your donation is so greatly appreciated :), waking up this morning I felt great about having done something good for our fight against cancer, even if I am currently having a slight fever and my legs are sore from walking and soccer.
Okay, so I have to go study now, thanks for reading if you are, and I rpomise to get that damn song off my site :) . Ciao!

QUOTABLE QUOTE FOR THE DAY: "Life does not suck.... you do." --> Me
YESTERDAY'S QUOTABLE QUOTE WAS: "You're about as hot as yesterday's coffee.... in the fridge." --> Kate
TOMORROW'S QUOTABLE QUOTE (since I won't have time too put it in): "Of course you don't have to be Wonder Woman, honey... just have her boobs" --> Mr. Asswipe to someone
I'm doing Relay For Life tomorrow! Can't wait! It should be excellent fun... and a lot of work. But still, it's for a good cause, so I'm happy :) . The downside of it, I only have 10 bucks in donations right now from Adlee (time kacih Adlee, jasamu dikenang. ) , and tambah dengan my own donation... that doesn't leave me with much. I'm hoping to earn at least 100 bucks, guess I have to lower the goal to 50 bucks then :( . But anyway, if you STILL want to donate (there's still time!), please click here to donate to Relay For Life!!
Okay, I'm working right now, and I have to get on to it (did I say I love my job?) so I'll pen in later, okay? Hopefully with news from the Relay!

Assalamu'alaikum....
Hey peeps! Please click here to donate to Relay For Life!! . Any sort of donation is completely appreciated, of course.
Yeah, I'm doing some community service before the semester is over. The event is next week, by the way, so anybody wanting to make a contribution, please do :) . Any money given, even a dollar, is truly appreciated. Relay For Life is under the American Cancer Society, and all contributions go towards finding a cure for the disease and help fight cancer worldwide.
Funny, I started out doing this because of a sorority requirement, and suddenly it became very personal to me. My grampa on my mom's side died of stomach cancer, and my grandma (arwah's wife) was diagnosed with breast cancer not too long ago. Even though the growth was completely removed, she still has to do regular check-ups, just in case. I mean, I know we had some history in my family, but I didn't know about all this until me and my mom stumbled upon the subject when we were talking. Suddenly I'm glad I'm doing the relay.....
Okay, I have to get on studying now, but remember people, donate!! Till later, ciao!

Assalamu'alaikum
Ngahaha... hari tuh tgh buat projek Tech Com 281, kene carik list of clubs yang wujud kat Umich nie.... Tetibe, jumpe lah this one:
Sketsa! (Malaysian Students' Association)
Nie sure zaman batu punye list, dah berape tahun dah name kitorang UMIMSA. Dah lah name Sketsa tuh ade tande seru kat hujung die. Hok aloh. Nasib baik skang dah tukar name. Kalau tak, malu jek.
Anyway, tadi konon-konon buat homework ngan Ijat, pastu ade lah graph nie, pastu dekat graph tuh ade due nodes yang memasing bernama Burglary ngan Earthquake. Pastu kitorang pun tgh nak mereason graph tuh (sebab sume bende tak make sense)....
Aku : Eh, cube compare graph nie. Apsal kat sini ade arrow from Earthquake to Burglary?
Ijat : Ooo sebab kalau ade earthquake org lagi nak keluar merompak...
Aku : (*snort!*, tgh tahan gelak) Ape pulak, kalau earthquake lah orang lagi tanak keluar sebab takut
Ijat : Tak lah, time earthquake, tgh huru-hare, so org tak pay attention ko merompak. Tapi nie aku pandai-pandai je, jgn ikut cakap aku.
Hahahahahahah.... power punye reasoning. Lepas tuh conversation berenti jap sebab aku takleh nak berenti gelak, sambil tuh Ijat cakap "siot ko!". Hahaha... sayang ko Ijat, jangan mare, kalau takde ko bosan sume orang, termasuklah aku :). Lepas habes gelakkan Ijat, die kene gie kelas, so tinggal sengsorang.... and datanglah pembalasan..... sebab gelakkan orang, tadi tgh2 seronok bace buku, someone gie terkejutkan from belakang. Ter melatah "Oh f*** you!" . Dang.. pusing tgk my cutie classmate from previous semester, Mr. Blondie yang suke panggil aku "shrimp, how ya doin'?". Mase tuh muke dah merah, die pun terkejut kejap (ye lah, before this depan die baik je), ngaha, pastu cakap lah sori bebanyak, tercakap sebab terkejut. Lagi embarrassing... hari nie konon nak jadi nerd gile, nak duduk kat MU lame2, so pakai baju yang sememeh lagi comfy..... tshirt lengan panjang corak biru ngan sluar track matching biru yang ade koyak kecik kat lutut sebab jatuh main b-ball. Suffice to say, macam org baru bangun tidoq. Dang.... nasib baik tgh duduk, so die tak nampak koyak nye. But still.... malu jugaaaa.....
Okkeh, sekarang satu hapak pun tak masuk, and exam and hw sume due besok. Minggu yang sangat taik. Worse, nak kene decide if I really nak depledge from the sorority... sebab duit satu, sebab mase satu, but we'll see, sebab sayang lah pulak. Anyway, until exam habes, babai!

Assalamu'alaikum...
Okay, so I know I suck at updating regularly nowadays, but I'm seriously busy this week. So further updates will have to wait until my program is finished. Thank you so much to Ijat and Kirah sebab kalau takde diorang, alamat tak pass lah kelas EECS 370 nie. My subjects suck ass this semester, and I honestly wish that I don't give a flying fuck what I get, but since I do, hence the no-sleep-nights. I even missed a sorority meeting. Oopsy. We'll have to rectify a lot of stuff before the term is over.
Anywa, new song by Tyra Banks. Love it so much, especially since I'm so hooked on America's Next Top Model. The kicked out Sara, so GO SHANDI!! Twigs rule!
Okay, back to programming...

Assalamu'alaikum...
Great, I have mild bronchitis. Thank goodness I went to the UHS before it got any worse. But anyway, I was feeling fine one minute, and then had this big headache the next, plus my throat itched and my nose was running like Watson Nyambek chased by a rabid dog. Suffice to say, I knw right away it wasn't normal flu (my normal flu syndroms are very, very mild... what can I say? I eat a lot of fruit and veggies). Went to the UHS, was told "good thing you came in before it got any worse", and was prescribed a couple of antibiotics, and to stay away from people for a day and see if symptoms got any worse or not. I stayed away for only half a day because I had a group meeting to go to, but I'm not letting anyone share any drinks with me. Anyway, aside from looking Rudolph the nosed reindeer, I'm feeling okay.
Still haven't gotten my Wario yet, but I'm enjoying Donkey Kong tremendously, though I felt like an idiot once Elly showed me how to get out of the darn cabin. And apparently, overgrown apes can play DDR too.
Anyway, got the nicest e-card today from the most unexpected person. Thank you :) . Heheh... haven't decided if I'm going back home this summer or not, but I'm definitely keeping this person in mind if I do.
Yesterday was my EECS 492 exam. It killed me so bad, I was drained afterwards. Right before that, I received a phone call from the person me and arwah Teh used to call "mami" , Auntie Maharom. It was kinda surprising, considering I don't hold any ranks in UMIMSA. We talked about stuff (budak2 Umich yang tak hantar transcript lagi, silelah hantar, aku dah hantar dah, heheh) like academics and general stuff. She does remind me a lot of my own mom. Unfortunately, couldn't talk for long because I had that damn exam.
My phone has been ringing off the hook today, with calls for meetings and stuff. It's been insane. Anyway, homework galore tonite, so tata!

SNAPSHOTS FROM WARIO WARE
Baru place order for Wario Ware semalam... nyam nyam, can't wait. Skarang tgh main Donkey Kong Country, akhirnye lepas jugak from that damn pokok sebab Elly tunjuk button mane nak tekan kalau nak lompat jauh2. Keskeskes... Wario Ware nie pulak, hook mase kat Illinois, main Gameboy Sheila, tetibe rase best lah pulak, addictive gile. So skang tgh tunggu die dtg, yea yea. Skang tgh bengong dengan Donkey Kong sebab die stuck kat Cranky's Cabin and tanak kluar-kluar, ikut Elly nak kene main je sampai die kluar. Tapi geram lah jugak sebab alih-alih kene tengok muke monyet tue tuh je cakap mende2 yang ntah hape-hape. Hai.. Gameboy nie je lah yang termampu nak main, nak beli console macam Gamecube ke, PS2 ke, tarak duit.
Tadi mak call from ofis die, pakai handphone. Mentang-mentang ade international roaming, heheh. Mak bising "Sim kad awak tuh ade international roaming jugak, Farah je tanak bawak." Habes tuh mane nak carik handphone, mahal gile. Mak kate nak hantar hp from Mesia, org kate takyah sebab lagi murah nak call pakai phonecard, malas nak layan songeh handphone (for now). Pastu mak cakap "Mak bayar $1,180 kat William suruh buat baju tige pasang. Tuh upah jahit je tu, tak masuk kain. Kain sume free". Mak cakap bapak bising sebab mahal, tapi bapak bising kejap je sebab die tak penah pun nak bising lame2. So pegi lah tanye mak, camane boleh mahal sangat. Mak cakap sebab baju sume ade sulam (plus org agak lah kan, sebab William tuh mmg cekik darah pun). Sulam cantik, sambung mak. Pulak dah. So org pun tanye lah, baju mahal-mahal mak nak pakai bile? Pegi ofis ke? Pastu nie lah part best: " Ape pulak baju mak, tige-tige baju Farah punye". Lagi sekali.... pulak dah. Mak datuk, baju sepasang dekat nak empat ratus ringgit upah, jahit je, nasib baik kain orang kasi buat bedey present and saje gatal-gatal nak kasi present. Patut lah bulan nie, kalau charge pape kat credit card bapak, die tak tanye pape, rerupenye bapak tgh sibuk ngan mak punye charges. Hahaha.. patutlah rumah kitorang cipo'et je, nasib baik rumah low maintenance, duit sume pegi kat isi-isi dalam. Hari tuh beli TV baru sebab budak kecik umur due tahun kat rumah tuh nak tgk Roda Impian 24/7. So bapak beli TV baru for Jajiq. TV flat-screen 36 (ke 32) inches..... for budak umur 2 tahun. Family best, tapi duit every month kluar macam air. Nasib baik bapak tak kisah, hot temper die pun belum lagi die nak bising pasal duit, sume jalan aje.
Okkeh, sambung study and buat homework. Sape yang bace nie, time kacih kerane sudi membace :).

Assalamu'alaikum...
Hahah... didn't go to the OPT workshop. They're having one next week over at Pierpont, so I'm gonna go to that one so I don't have to wait for the bus for 30 freakin' minutes. Spent the morning grocery shopping, filling out credit card forms, reading and enjoying my Gameboy. I'm stuck on this one part of Donkey Kong Country, somehow I just can't seem to swing far enough to get to the next tree.
I can't wait till next weekend, I'll finally be able to call home and talk to Nenek. I hope all the crap that happened this week isn't gonna happen next week. I mean, there was a bunch of things that I was so looking forward to doing that blew up in my face. If I went, I dissapointed a whole bunch of people. If I didn't go, I would have dissapointed someone who had been so helpful to me, plus we had been looking forward to our little trip for a week. So I chose, thinking that I probably can still amke it back in time. All I wanted was to unwind, and I ended up feeling miserable instead. It was such a mess, I woke up today with puffy eyes and and a monstrous headache. Needless to say, CCRB went to hell, and good thing the OPT has another workshop coming up.
Maybe I'm not meant to try and be an overacheiver. Maybe I'm not meant to have good grades, have a job, be involves in extra curriculars, be active in a sorority, try to get an internship, apply for grad school and still have a normal social life all at once. Maybe I should do what I always do every other semester: go to school, go home, sit around and hope good things come my way. That didn't work, and now my excellent plan of grabbing life by the balls (because we know Life is a man, anyway) isn't going that great either. So what is a girl to do?
Wassalam....

Assalamu'alaikum...
I had an exceptionally long day today. Work started at 9 in the morning, and to make matters worse, I didn't get much sleep the night before due to excessive worry about programming, exams and how I'm gonna fit everything in my time schedule. Needless to say, I didn't fall asleep until around close to 5 a.m. Work consisted of learning how to use listserve and how to maintain the Pierpont Commons website. I was half asleep through most of the time, thank goodness my boss didn't notice. By the time she talked about Stress Busters and asked us to look for stuff to put in the kit, I was past the point of listening.
So I finished work at 11.30, went straight to ME 240 class (managed to keep myself fresh and alert) , then had lunch (still managed to keep awake AND eat a lot of food) , went to EECS 492 discussion (Thom was really boring) , and then had a meeting with Kristen, during which I could barely keep my eyes open. I went back home, finally managed to get some sleep.... only to be waken at 6.30 to go to Target with Abigail. I dragged my butt out of bed (I've been planning this Target trip since Monday, that was how much I was looking forward to the stuff I wanna get), put some clothes on, plunked my paperboy cap on my head and was ready to go. We went to Target, and that was basically the high point of my day. The TV I wanted was out, but I pestered people and they gave me a "raincheck" (it's a receipt you get so that the next time the item comes in, you can get it for the discounted price) for the TV and the DVD player I wanted. However, what kind of pissed me off was that it took them a half hour to tell me that they were out of the DVD player. I was out of my mind tired by then. Abigail looked around for her stuff (she has a project thing to do for her internship) and I basically looked around for stuff that I can use for work. We're surveying things for the Stress Busters program, and so far it's been going good, but we only have the toys up, none of the academic things up yet.
Basically we left Target when it closes, and Abigail was happy with the stuff she got for work, and I was happy because hope is not lost for my TV (trust me, if I want something, I will employ every given method to make it happen. The sale ends tomorrow, but at least I have my raincheck). And here's the good part: we got lost. Like waaaaay lost. We were circling around roads I have never even seen during my three years here. Needless to say, I was freaking out AND I was sleepy. And Abigail was getting a headache too, though we made stupid, mundane jokes about assholes who shouldn't drive too keep our mind off the fact we had no idea where we were.
Luckily, all went well. We were only an hour lost, but now I know where Maly's is. I got back, got yelled at, and now I'm gonna go to sleep, because tomorrow I have the workshop to go to and the CCRB before that, and Sunday is social for the associates and then chapter at 6 (if you don't understand what it means, it's no big, just ignore) , and I'm writing crap now anyway, so ciao and zzzzzz........

Assalamu'alaikum....
Warghh!!! School has only started for a few days and already I'm doing major screw-ups. Like flunking my ME 240 exam. And accidentally coming to chapter an hour early (not exactly screw up there, but I'm still pissed). And missing class today because I slept late last night and my alarm clock chose THIS DAY to die on me. Now I have to go on a scavenger hunt for notes, which is a pain in the ass to do. To top it off, I have dance class today, a meeting right after and TONS of homework to do, when all I really wanna do is just go home and sleep. *sigh* . Life as an undergraduate.
And right now, I can't even check my Umich email because the server is down. I mean, wtf?? How can it be down at 4.20 in the afternoon? And I'm nervous because I'm still short of one interview for my sorority membership education.
Ooohhh... here's some nice news :). I'm finally inducted into Phi Sigma Rho. Yay! After induction, I went to the MU for a spot of studying, and Alisa managed to stuck something down induction gift, nguahaha.. Apelah Alisa. Thankfully, it's out now.
Activities this week: Practice for sisters' show, get another interview with an active, learn the Greek alphabets (wha..?), and call home before mom and dad go to Cairo for their fifth honeymoon (I think, or is it more than that? They've been around the globe so much without their "lovely" kids that I can't keep track anymore). Apply for the engineering study abroad program (pleaseeeeee let me get to Grenoble. It'd be so kick ass! )
And after this lame ass excuse of an update, I have to get going to class, so ciao!
Wassalam....
p/s: I love you... (ahaks! who remembers that series? waayyyy long ago )
